The book is mainly about Sabrina and Daphene Grimm. They have been in many foster homes, mostly with troubled people, when they find out that their dead grandmother Grimm isn't really dead. They find out that they are descendants from the great brothers Grimm, and that all the fairy tales are true. Soon they find themselves meeting a whole slew of characters, from Cinderella to the big bad wolf, and it is soon clear that life will never be normal for them again.
