Cricket Readers Recommend

This was a great book. It is about some kids named Jessie & Daisy and a friendly female dragon who likes to eat. The dragon hatched from an egg they found while searching for rocks on the first day of summer. They thought the egg was really a rock full of crystals and Jessie hid it in his sock drawer. They were surprised when the egg hatched and was a dragon. They named her Emerald because she was green but called her Emmy and she smelled like chili peppers. It takes Daisy and Jesse a long time to figure out what to feed her. I loved Emmy. Later in the story we learn a man is really St. George. The kids and Emmy are all in danger because he is trying to capture Emmy to slay the dragon.
