Redwall Series

by Brian Jacques

Definitely read this saga by "all around scallawag" Brian Jacques (pronounced jakes.)  It takes place in a land called Mossflower, which seems to still be medieval.  The main characters are mice, although there are very many other species of animals involved, including rats, sparrows and badgers.  From my viewpoint (I have only just started the second book) it looks like it will turn out splendidly.  For anyone who doesn't mind animals talking and likes books set in medieval times.

I have read about 5  of the books, and they are good, though at times they can be slightly boring.

They were ok, for the first couple of books. Then, it all was the same book, just with different things. I mean, they almost all had a riddle map, the antagonist always dies, as well as, a protagonist. Also, when the main protagonist (usually, Martin, Mattimeo, or Matthias) is away, Redwall is stormed by more antagonists. Don't get me wrong, they were all well written, but they were just got quite... boring and predictable.
