Smile

by Raina Telgemeir

I really love this book! It is a great book for any tweens going through any drama (and mean girls!)

Anyway, middle school Raina has people stare at her a lot because she just got braces, and on top of that she has to ware head gear and a retainer with fake teeth attatched! And of course there is tons of boy drama and friends that turn on you. Will Raina ever Smile again!?!?!?!?!?!?

This is one of my favorite books! Everyone out their who loves Smile should read Drama. It is by the same author and it is amazing just like the 1st book.

My parents gave me Smile at Christmas last year. I had braces then so it helped me be happy that i didn't have to have my mouth rearranged!   Laughing

I have read them all too. They are sooooo good! The first time I ever read smile I was at my local library, it was the day before I hads to get a permanent tooth pulled (the tooth had had a cavity which was not because of anything I ate but because it had been a bad tooth to begin with and gladly it was a molar) and I was looking for something to read I went into the graphic novel section and started reading Smile, I would recommend you read it if you are having any kind of tooth trouble, friend trouble, or even no trouble at all. This book it totally insperational and it helped me get through very hard times. I hope you readers will give it a try. Also read Sisters (the book about Raina and her sister that is going on at about the same time and as Smile), Ghosts, and Drama which are 3 more books by Raina Telagemeier. I would recomend Smile and Drama for ages 12 and up and Ghosts for 10 and up. My mom liked Smile and Ghosts almost as much as i did.

I hope you enjoy these books but its perfectly okay if you don't everyone is compleatly entitled to thier own opinions. you should also read Real friends by Shannon Hale which is an autobiographical graphic novel about what being a true friend really means. I would recommend this book for ages 9 and up maybe younger. You have to finish this book if you want a happy ending because if it gets to hard in the middle you may feel worse than you felt when you started it. Gladly Real Friends has a good ending so I advise you to stick with it untill the end.

Thank you for reading this (as this was a slightly long reply) and I hope you enjoy your day.
