Into the Wild

by Erin Hunter (Pen name)

OMG! I love the Warriors series! My favorite book in the series is Into the Wild, which is the first book. In Into the Wild, Rusty, a house place cat, wanders through the woods and gets into a fight with a clan cat. Rusty is invited to join the clan, but in order to become a clan cat Rusty must give up some things. Rusty has to give up, always having a shelter, always depending upon getting food, and the feeling of always being safe. Finally, Rusty joins the clan as an apprentice. Because Rusty was a house place cat, the clan leader, Bluestar, had to mentor him. When Rusty entered the camp, he got into a fight with a new warrior, Longtail. Longtail ripped Rusty's last thing of being a house cat of him, his collar. After that Rusty and Longtail were never good friends. When Rusty joined the clan he also gave up his name and got his new clan name, Firepaw, because his pelt was a fiery red. On the first few days of joining the clan, no one would talk to Firepaw except Graypaw, another clan apprentice. Being a warrior apprentice is not all fun and games. As a warrior apprentice you must learn to hunt and fight to survive. In a clan, apprentices must hunt for the nursing queens and elders. If an apprentice does something wrong, to be sure the apprentice will go search for ticks in the elders den. Firepaw and Graypaw go on many adventures as apprentices, and get in a lot of trouble. I think that the Warriors series are fast paced and action packed. This book is so interesting and a great page turner. I recommend that you read the whole series as generation after generation lives on.

This series is amazing, and I would recommend it to anybody who likes cats or adventure. It is excellently written  by Erin Hunter (who is actually three different people). I can almost promise you that you will love this series. Firepaw is amazing, and you will have to read the books to find out what his name when he becomes a warrior is.

I thought the first series was quite good, but I lost interest with the second series.  Seekers sounds interesting...

Warriors is good.

I cannot beleive that bookstores put this book under HUNTER instead of HOLMES.
