If you like adventures, animals, and schemes then this is the book for you! One day Opal was in a super market when something caught the attention out of the corner of her eye. A stray dog was making chaos in the market and was causing distractions. Opal went home to her house and started building a pen for the the dog and asked her father to keep him. After a lot of thought Opal's father agreed to take him in. The dog got the name Winn Dixie. This book reminds me of one of my dogs because he is loving, sweet and a great animal to be with. He also reminds me of Winn Dixie because they are both scared of thunderstorms. Big Adventures happen to Opal and Winn Dixie but you have to read the book to find out what they are.

This book is a story of friendship, sadness, and overcoming lonliness. Because of Winn-Dixie is a great book and a must have for road-trips. I enjoyed more than anyone possibly could. Kate DiCamillo is an incredible author.

I know. Isn't this book great?!! If you liked it you should watch the movie, although I admit the book was better. I like gloria hump. If this name is wrong please say it . I didn't read for a long time.

I loved this book too! I also watched the movie. It was pretty good too. The police were funny.

I read it 10 times. Still love it. The first time I read it I started to cry. Next 9 times no crying.
I think Gloria Dump is Opal's mom.
