The Invention of Hugo Cabret

by Brian Selznick

Hugo is trying his best to find his uncle but can't. Do you think he's going to find his uncle? This book may seem long but it has a lot of pictures and it is very mysterious. If you like mysterious books and a good challenging book, then this book is worth it.I love this book and I hope you do too!

It was really good, but how is it 'challenging'?

You guys......

This book doestn' have 'a lot of pictures' (well maybe it does). There's supposed to be no writing because it's based on a silent movie. Just like movies in those times. The writing is just there to explain a bit of stuff.

I love that book!

It does, actually, have "a lot of pictures". That doesn't interfere with it being based on silent movies, though.

Yeah, it does have "a lot of pictures". But they're good pictures and they help you think what it looks like. This is a brilliant book! I love  it so!

I saw the movie, but I haven't read the book. The movie recently won several Academy Awards.

I loved the book, but it's not about Hugo finding his Uncle at all. He doesn't care about his drunkard uncle. However Hugo cares very much about machines, especially a certain machine which holds a greater past than Hugo knows.

I read this book, and it is partially shown in pictures and partially described in words. Read it!Laughing

I read it, and I don't want to be rude, but this summary is verrrrrrry far from the actual plot. For one thing, Hugo does not try to find his Uncle. For another, the girl Isabelle and her guardian are not mentioned. For a third, it did not seem challenging.

I really did enjoy the book though (I got an autographed copy) and want to see the movie, since most of the book really does feel like a movie with all the pictures and most of the film references.

Started to read it, very good plot line. It looks quite long, but like half the book is pictures and the words are smooshed in the middle of the page. Other than those things, it is an amazing book!!

I really want to read the book but I haven't gotten to it yet. I have way to many books, but I've seen the movie and love it! The book looks big but not that many words in it which is abnormal for me because most my of my books are pictureless so this is easy reading for me. ( I will let you know when I read it. )
