This book is about a girl named Opal who wants a dog, but her dad won't let her because it is aginst the trailer park rules. Then, while she was shopping through the Winn-Dixie, a dog  that was being chased through the store ran up to her. She ended up keeping the dog because she told the manager it was her dog named Winn-Dixie. a great book.
