The Sisters Grimm

by Michael Buckley

The Sisters Grimm is a wonderful book, jam-packed with mystery, sisterly bonding, and a sense of adventure.  Sabrina and her younger sister Daphne have been thrust from foster home to foster home for months after their parents' disappearance, doing something horrible each time so they get thrown out every time.  One day, a woman claiming to be their grandmother takes them in.  She claims Sabrina and Daphne are descendents from the renowned fairy-tale writers, the Brothers Grimm.  "Granny Relda" as she insists the girls call her, says that the fairy-tale characters are real, and that their famous anscestors were simply recording the history of the Everafters, what the fairy-tale creatures are called.  Daphne believes, but Sabrina has her doubts.  Are they really the descendents of the Grimm Brothers?  And if they are, are the Everafters real?
