I love Percy Jackson... I've only read the 1st book. I love the name Annabeth; it is a combination of my first name, Elizabeth, and my middle name, Anna. Well actually my name is Elizabeth Anna Isabell, but o well, it got 2 of my names (and it looks pretty as well!)

My favorite charecter is Annabeth! I love all of Rick Riordan's work. I have read Percy Jackson and the Olympians as well as Heroes Of Olympus and the Kane Chronicles.
PS: You could start going by Annabeth.

I just finished The Lightning Thief yesterday morning. It was pretty good. It was cool, but odd at the same time. My favorite character is Grover, he's so cool. I thought Charon was funny too. I liked the part at the waterbed store when the Crusty says: "Guaranteed" Then Percy says "No way" then Crusty goes "Way" And then Percy goes "Show me". I don't know why, but that part just ammused me.
I went to a Percy Jackson party at Borders yesterday to celebrate the release of the movie next Friday. We got to write our name in Ancient Greek, and we did a crossword puzzle Olympian games, and a trivia. I would've done alot better in the trivia if they had just stuck to the first book.

i am disgusted with the director!!! i mean having the kids be like 20 instead of like in 6th grade is bad enough, but seriously! They gave Annabeth brown hair!

The director is actually Chris Columbus, the same guy who directed The Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets!!!

I'm not saying that you should like it because he directed Harry Potter!! But I understand how it sounded like you should like it because of that reason. But I was just stating a bit of information, that's all.

I haven't seen the movie yet (soon though) but to be truthful I don't really care about blonde!Annabeth. Although I was disappointed when I heard about some of the song choices... Tik Tok? Poker Face? C'mon, Chris Columbus... really?
As for the aging up, CC said he wanted older actors because Percy is a complex character struggling with a lot of stuff. Additionally, they don't want the same issue they had with the Potter movies--- the actors aging faster than the characters as they make the movies. I mean, it's a lot easier to make a 25-year-old look 19 than it is to make a 19-year-old look 12.
That is not to say I forgive the cast choice for young!Tom in HP6.

Did they really? I haven't seen the movie, but come on! Golden hair is like Annabeth's main feature, besides her grey eyes.

I found this same problem with Eragon (the subject of which I am still obsessed): They made Arya brunette and her black hair in the book is what makes her... her.

I love the whole series! In the first one like the part when Crusty says "I'm crusty" and Percy thinks 'yes you are'. :)
