This book is about a twelve-year-old boy whose father died when he was little. Jeremy comes home from school one day and finds a package at the door that his friend, Lizzy, convinces him to open. Inside, he finds a wooden box that cannot be opened without four keys. Apparently, the box holds the Meaning of Life. The book tells about Jeremy's search for the keys so he can open it on his thirteenth birthday at the end of the summer.
