the "Little House on the Prairie" series

by Laura Ingalls Wilder

This series is about the author's life. They take you from her early childhood to when she was married and even a bit farther. If you like history and pioneer stories you'll love these books!Kiss

I love that book series! Did you know that there are stories about her daughter, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother? There is also a book, Old Town in the Green Groves, not by Laura Ingalls Wilder, but by Cynthia Rylant. She was asked to do a book from a dozen papers that Laura had written.

I love these boos!

My mom read them to me and my siblings when we where really little. I've read them all millions of times since then!

P.S

Did you know that the Little House on the Prairie books were edited and writen mostly by Laura's daughter Rose?

Really? I know that when Laura died, her daughter took a manuscript Laura hadn't finished before her death since she was too devastated by the death of her husband to do so. Rose published that manuscript, 'The First Four Years,' in its original draft form, and never edited it. Many sequels were written to the books, including 'The Rose Years' which were not written by Rose, but by her sole heir and 'honorary grandson' Roger Lea MacBride. Could this be what you were confusing? I am positive all of Laura's books were written by her.

Also, it for some reason annoys me that people call this series 'Little House on the Prarie,' since that was not the first book, nor was it the best one, at least in my opinion. Perhaps we could just call them the Little House books, which makes more sense...

I adore Little House! I want to travel someday to see all the places she's lived! I got the books years ago, but have only recently gotten to reading them. Then my Dad took to reading them aloud, and decided to add in zombies! It drives me nuts, and sometimes I can hardly tell what's real and what isn't! But anyway, wonderful story! I'm currently reading the Rose years, the Caroline years, the Martha years, and the Charlotte years!

I LOVE those books. I wish Laura wrote more about Mary. I still need to read Little Town On The Prairie and all the rest.

They are not my very favorite books of all times, but I think that they are a pretty interesting series.  There are also movies for the series and the movies are like Harry Potter; they tell the story in parts and don't stuff it into a 508 hour movie or something.
