Buttermilk Hill

by Ruth White

Piper Berry can't believe it when her parents tell her they're getting divorced. Sure they've fought, but her dad has always come back when he leaves. But this time i'ts different. Suddenly, Piper's world is torn apart. Her parents are now bitter enemies and try to send hateful messages to each other through Piper. Her dad gets remarried and seems more focused on his two new adopted boys than he ever did on Piper, and her mom starts college again and acting weird. Piper finds solace, however, in her newfound talent for poetry. With her writing, best friend Lindy, new friend Bucky (who has a mystery of his own), and all the town of Buttermilk Hill, Piper learns a lot about chasing dreams and friendship.

This is one of those books that is so special it becomes a part of you, that once you read it you are changed. I loved it!
