Chatterbox: Blab About Books

The Ultimate CB Book Log
Have you read...

Have you read a book recently?

Enter its name here. This is the 2017 Ultimate CB Book Log. Well, technically starting in 2016, but who cares?

This is a place for us to keep a huge, giant log of books, both for ourselves, and also so other CBers can see what we're reading. Everytime you finish a book--whether you've read it or not--put its name and author here. You don't have to talk about it or anything...you just type in its title. We can discuss books here if you want, but it's not required.

Have fun!

I think this is a great idea, Owlgirl!

~The Maze Runner

~The Scorch Trials

~The Death Cure

~The Kill Order

~The Fever Code

by James Dashner. I've read all of them but the last in the past, but I had to re-read them so I would get what was happening in The Fever Code.I'm currently 153 pages into The Fever Code.

~Stargirl

by Jerry Spinelli. Jerry Spinelli is an amazing author. You should go right now and read all of his books.

~Scythe

~Thunderhead

by Neal Schusterman.

~The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland In A Ship Of Her Own Making

by Catherynne M. Valente. I have the rest of the books on hold at the library.

~The Marvels

by Brian Selznick. An amazing author and illustrator. You've probably seen his work. He illustarated Frindle by Andrew Clements, and a few other Andrew Clements books, too.

Wow, you and I like very similar books! I haven't read Fever Code or Kill Order uet, but I did read the original trio. Even though I knew it was coming, page 250 still killed me. Urgh.

I loved Stargirl. I haven't been able to read Love, Stargirl (the sequel) yet, but I want to. I did try reading some of Jerry Spinelli's other books (namely, Wringer) but I didn't like them all that much.

Well, you know my feelings on Arc of a Scythe. By the way, cliffhanger much at the end of Thunderhead? I prefered book 1 to 2 though. I didn't like Greyson all that much, and I felt he wasn't nessacary. He just kind of disrupted my reading experience.

I read the first one, and I liked it. I haven't read the others yet though. It was pretty good.

I just checked this out from the lubrary, but I haven't read it yet.

I just finished Spy Ski School (which was OK, I guess), I'm reading MARCH book three (Which is a very very good graphic novel series about the movement against segregation by John Lewis), and I'm about to read Skullduggery Pleasant. So, yeah. I did it and stuff!

The Golden Compass, by Philip Pullman

It took me forever to get into it, but once I did, I really liked it. I would definitely recommend this book.

Caraval, by Stephanie Garber

This was pretty good, but not great.

The Infinite Sea, by Rick Yancey

This was very good but I liked the 5th Wave better.

Ready Player One

*** 1/2 stars

To be honest, I only read this book because the movie just came out and I was going to see it, and I don't want to be one of those people who just build their opinion of the thing itself on the movie.

It was pretty good overall. Most of it is just 80's references, but despite that, it was a pretty enjoyable book.

Ender's Game--Orson Scott Card, *****

Wow, this was REALLY good. I didn't expect to like it, considering I'm not a huge Sci-Fi fan, but GEEZ! That was good. And the ending was an incredible twist. Already checked out Ender in Exile!

Ender in Exile--Orson Scott Card, *** 1/2

Not my favorite, and not as good as Ender's Game (in my opinion), but it was necessary and gave me some insane revelations about Bean, Petra, and the other Dragon Army characters. I think  it's that I'm just not a huge Political Drama fan.
