Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Carve The Mark by Veronica Roth
Has anybuggy else...

Has anybuggy else read this book? I'm in the middle of it and it is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. I love it so much! The characters, the plot, and the spaceships are all contributing factors.

If you have not read this book yet, I reccomend it strongly. So far it's reeeeeealy good.

I just finished it! The beginning is slow, but the rest is really good!

It's kinda confusing... but I'll try to explain.

So there's this thing called the Current, OK? It's kinda like the Force in that it flows through all living things. Except the Current give people special powers called Currentgifts when it run through them at a certain age. Almost all Currentgifts are unique, and based on personality. So there's this dude named Akos Kereseth on a peaceful planet, and this dudette name Cyra Noavek on a warlike planet. Cyra is part of the royal familly, but her parents are both dead, so her sadistic brother Ryzek is kinda like the King.

Akos's dad is a farmer, and Akos's mom is a very important woman known as an Oracle, whose ability is to see the future.  Akos has one brother named Eijeh and a sister named Cisi, both of which are fairly important to the story.

Basically, Akos and Eijeh are kidnapped by Ryzek's men because of their unique Currentgifts. As Akos is thrust into Cyra's world, they both discover they don't have to be the people they were raised to be.

In a nutshell, that's pretty much it.

One small correction that I have to make; they live on the same planet, different parts. Things like that bother me, no matter how small they may be.

I hope to read it!!! It's on my TBR (to be read) list. It's by the same author as Divergent, by the way.

I'm a little over halfway through and have been reading it for over a month now. I have so too many other books. I also kind of stole it from my friend....
