Okay, I'm going

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Collaborative HP Fanfic
Okay, I'm going...

Okay, I'm going to do this. I've been thinking about it for a while, and I'm finally doing it. This a Harry Potter fanfic about how it isn't what the main character was expecting. The main character is named Olive. She's kind of quirky, really smart, and a huge Harry Potter fan. She's a Hufflepuff (although it isn't called that). Since I know I won't be able to write this whole thing, let's do it collaboratively! Each post should be a RP-length post, and wait for the last person's to show up. Here's the beginning:

I've always believed that Hogwarts exists. I wasn't so sure, though, when my 11th birthday came and went with no owl pecking at my window. At every birthday since I've gotten excited, but disappointed the next day. This year is no exception. Tomorrow I'm turning 14, and my only wish will be for Hogwarts to exist.

The morning dawns bright as gold and I eagerly peek out my window. No luck. I head downstairs for breakfast. On my way, I spy an envelope peeking out of the seldom-used mail slot. I grab it and run back to my room to read it.

Dear Olive Algar,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to the Hudnomut School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The most important thing you should know is that it's not called Hogwarts. Every single word in J. K. Rowling's books is a lie. They are based on the truth, but they are not the truth.

To get to school, please proceed to the nearest train station on September 1 and tap this letter to the ground. You will need to bring a few sets of clothes and any entertainment you would like. Pets are allowed. All magical supplies will be available when you arrive.

Lastly, tell no one but your parents about this letter. All interested parties may know that you are at a boarding school.

Sincerely,

Lulu Litzer, Headmistress

On September 1st, I run to the train station and tap my envelope to the ground with the hand not holding my suitcase. The world fizzes out. I reappear in front of a disappointingly small house. I walk up the steps and inside to a grand hall, more fitting to my expectations.

"Welcome to Hudnomut!" says a short woman dressed in crazy clothes. "I'm Lulu Lizter, your headmistress. To your right is our supply of basically everything, where you will find all the supplies you need. Once you've gotten everything in this list [which she hands me], come back out here and down that hallway to the gathering space."

I open the list and read as I walk to the supply.

You will need:

Wizardry Coat

Full Book Bag

Full Supply Bag

Spell Token (choose the one that feels warm in your hand)

Animal Accomplice (whichever one you like; you may name them)

I find the first three easily and plop then on top of my suitcase. Next, the spell token. Probably like a wand. I go through about ten, ranging from ice cold to lukewarm when I grasp them. Finally, I take a small-cookie-sized wooden token carved with a dolphin. I immediately know that this is the right one.

My token still in my hand, I head over to the animals and stare at the cages. There are all sorts of types - fish and lizards and mice and rabbits and cats and dogs and birds of all types. I'm attracted to a small yellow kitten. I pick her cage up and decide to name her Sunflower.

Anyone want to just read along and tell me what you think? You don't have to contribute.
