BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS PLEASE
I am need...

I am need of book recs. Any and all will be appreciated, but I enjoy mostly fantasy, a lot of mysteries, and some realistic fic, historical fic, and sci fi. If you could include a short synopsis of the book that would be great, but no worries if you don't have time. Thanks!

Leeli, have you ever read The Guardian Herd books? It's a fantasy series about pegasi by Jennifer Lynn Alvarez and it's reaallly good.

Also, The Inquisitor's Tale by Adam Gidwitz is a really good book. It's sort of a cross between historical fiction and fantasy, set in medieval France. It's about three children with supernatural powers. William is very tall and super strong, Jacob has these sort of healing powers, and Jeanne sees glimpses of the future. It's very entertaining, and interesting and I'm pretty sure it won the Newbery one year.

Adam Gidwitz? I only know him from the A Tale Dark And Grimm trilogy. I'll have to investigate this title.

Oh! And the Foxcraft trilogy is good. It's about foxes that can do their own magic called Foxcraft. Some of the things they can do are slimmering, which is where a fox makes the illusion of invisibility to sneak up on prey or avoid enemies, and wa'akkir, which is shapeshifting into another canine animal, or cub of Canista, as they say in the books.

Annnd  Red Falcons of Tremoine, by Hendry Peart, which is a historical fiction set in medieval England about a 15-year-old boy named Leo who is heir to both the estate of Warlock, and Tremoine, whose families have had a blood feud of sorts for a long time.

Hope those keep you occupied for a while! :)

Thanks, Aspen! All of those sound cool! Especially Foxcraft and the Guardian Herd. It's funny, I haven't read Guardian Herd, but I have the first book from the library right now and I was planning on trying it!

Oh yes, I know. That's why I did look around before making this. I'm sorry if it bothered you that I made yet another book recommendation thread. I was going to make it JUST a fantasy book recommendation thread at first, and then expanded it to other genres.

Thanks for the suggestions!

AHAHA Wonderstruck was SO. GOOD! They made a movie of it recently.

I recommend the Theodosia Throckmorton series. It's about a girl who can sense Egyptian curses on artifacts in her parents' museum, and she's trying to remove the curses without harming her family, her country, or the secret society she joins. Then this other secret society, an evil one, tries to kidnap her.

That's not a very good summary, but whatever.

A wrinkle in time

The glass children

Murder Most Unladylike

The HTTYD series (it may be a little bit young for you, but in my opinion, no one is too old for the How to Train Your Dragon Books)

Miss Peregruins Home for Pecuilar Children

hi! i don't know how old you are so i'm not sure what age level of reading you enjoy, but! if you haven't read jandy nelson's work yet, i highly highly recommend. it's realistic fiction and it's so good! i can't do summaries very well without spoilers, but you should look them up! they're so good. if you have read them i also recommend aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe and the catastrophic history of you and me. as far as i'm aware they aren't as popular but they are both incredible as well. hope i could help!

I would recommended the five kingdoms series.

PS the fifth one is not out yet so you might want to wait until it's out
