Calling all readers

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

The works of Lemony Snicket
Calling all readers...

Calling all readers of good books, crackers of secret codes, and drinkers of black tea:

Shippings?

Observations?

THEORIES?

Please obfuscate spoilers by refering to people/objects of interest by their initials. Obfuscate is a word which here means disguise behind seemingly insignificant letters. In my experience, however, letters are never insignificant, particularly when they stand for something.

Shippings: VB x DQ, KB x IQ, B x LS (I hope you understand.)

Observations: Well, the sugar bowl is quite a big deal, isn't it?

THEORIES: B was almost LS's wife. Maybe LS is the father of the B's?

I did indeed try to obfuscate my spoilers, but I'm afraid here, obfuscate is a word which here means confuse everyone by hiding the truth.

The world is quiet here.

Yikes, this has been bottomed for a while!

Just to let you know: The books do not answer ANY of your questions. At all. And the B's do not have any ships, just fleeting maybe-something-more-than-friendships. Eep, that probably counts as spoilers... ummm.

Shippings: VB + QQ. KB + FW.

Observations: As I said before, the books leave you with a bad taste in your mouth, like the story hasn't completely ended.

THEORIES: Am I the only one who's read the whole series? Anyway, LS and B had a romantic interest in each other, but after the schism, when CO became evil, B and LS had a major fall-out, and B ended up marrying BB. LS feels a connection to B's kids, V, K, and S, and after B and BB died, he wanted to discover what had happened to them.

Obfuscating, a word which here means something necessary that has to happen, and yet is very confusing to read and write out, has melted my brain.

The world is quiet here.

Whoops. I completely forgot to top it. So sorry, Alizarine! X3

Yeah, I haven't finished the series yet. Ive been reading along with the show, but I only just got my hands on bk 6.

THEORIES: That makes a lot of sense. I would also like to point out that it seems the entire VFD went to PP school. That would explain how they all know each other (e.g. CO, LS, BB, B, L (is he a show only character?) JS,  QM, QD, MM, etc.)

I did forget to say that my theories are only theories. None of that is solid evidence that the books offer. ; )

Ah, true, very true! Have you read the prequel book? About LS's (fictional) childhood? That explains some things, but I didn't see anything in it about PP, but it definitely makes sense. Yeah, L is mostly a show character. He pops up in the books a few times as L Y-W, but they don't have him as involved as they have him be in the show.

Ah, of course. ;)

I don't believe I have. Actually...I might've. What's the title again? x3 I figured when I didn't remember him that well from Book 4 (TWW). I love that his last name is listed as Y-W xD I like him in the show a lot. x3

I'm hoping to pick up EE soon. Right now I'm still chomping my way through the smorgasbord that is the Ender Universe and rereading Maze Runner (because I have absolutely nothing else to read...), but I do really want to catch up! CAn't wait for season 3/books 11, 12, 13!

It's called All The Wrong Questions, and I guess it's the first book a four-book series, but I haven't read the other three. It's kinda dark but the writing has its usual irony that makes it worthwhile. XD

XD Yeah! It's kinda funny. I wonder what his real last name is? Besides Y-W? (Lol, I just had to throw that in, it's fun to type out. :3)

Ooh! Sounds fun! I'm reading Heartless by Marissa Meyer at the moment. I'd forgotten just how much her writing sucks you in. XD  Now I don't want to go back into the real world, after I've read a few chapters. And yeah, and I know it's not your fault you haven't read the rest of the books! Something about your library not having them? Either way, it's not your fault. ;) I'll just have to keep my spoilers (or what spoilers I can spoil using initials XD) to myself for a while longer. XD

Haha, her initials spell eggs. *wipes away a tear from laughing so hard* That's too hilarious. And I know!! The adults are always SO CLUELESS and CRUEL.

I love Lemony Snicket's writing! However pretty much all I got out of it was confusion XD.

Cardinal says "chaa". I guess what she got out of Lemony Snicket's writing was some dance lessons and chai tea. Interesting...

Forgot if I said, finished book 6 (EE). I think I did. Ah, well. I also finished book 7 (VV), and I'm almost finished book 8 (HH). Thankfully, I own book 9 (CC), so I can start it right away. I'm almost caught up! *singsongs*

Hey,

If any of you know, does the SoUE have 13 or 12 books? If SoUE has 12 that is quite the ending...

Thirteen. The ending is rather unsatisfying but not that bad XD

I keep wondering what's so great about the sugar bowl. Then again, ES is very possessive of her 'in' things. I also agree with the theory that B and LS might be the parents of the Baudelaires, but that wouldn't explain how they didn't recognise LS on the video file in the Netflix series.

I'M SO CONFUSED!

AND SOOOOOOO IN!

Well, I do believe that throughout the hints of LS's story that you get in the lives of VB, KB, and SB, it is insinuated that B turned him down. The B's father is someone else (also starts with B, but I forget it offhand...) I do think that might be why LS is so concerned about the B's case though.

And, honestly, they've discovered more about their parent's life than they ever knew. They didn't know JS, CO, EGGS/JS, MM, etc. etc. So I wouldn't be surprised if it was just that kind of thing.

Still stalling my way through book 9. I have books 10, 11 and 12 here though.
