Have you ever...

Have you ever read a book, only to be blown away by the cliff-hanger last sentence in it? Or maybe you remember the last sentence of a book that left you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. Whatever it is, you can post it here!

Since glares and pouts the first sentances get all the credit! Hmmph! Last sentences are great too!

Just make sure to include what books you are potentially spoiling at the beginning of your post, and include a Spoiler Alert warning (optional).

I wanted to make this because of a book I read recently, Red Rock Mysteries (Book 1): Haunted Waters. I found it on the shelf and decided to just read it out of boredom, and figured I probably wouldn't get too attached to the book, since it looked like a younger kid's book anyways.

Well...The last bit of dialogue (which came out of nowhere, by the way) was this:

"What are you sorry for?" "For killing your father."

Enjoy!

That's a great idea! I know Leeli made a Worst Last Sentences thread too....you two are making me want to go reread all the books I've ever read and study the endings! Agh!

Also, I've missed seeing you around, Icy. *belated tackle-hugs*

I just finished rereading The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak, and the ending was very good. The last sentence gave me chills:

***A Last Note From Your Narrator***

I am haunted by you humans.

Icy! I haven't seen you in forever! I missed you! *tackle-hugs*

Great idea. I almost made one of these threads, myself.

I just finished the Lunar Chronicles earlier today (AAAAAAAAHHHH IT WAS SO GOOD AAAAAAAHHH) and I loved the last sentence so much: and they all lived happily ever after, to the end of their days. In almost any other book it just would have been cliche, but it fit with this series so well.

Hey that's the ending of the book Bilbo Baggins was planning on writing in The Lord of the Rings!

Yes! Except I think his version was actually, and he lived happily ever after, to the end of his days, but close enough. It love it for the ending of that book, as well.

Hey Leeli! Sorry for (kinda) ripping off your thread--I only noticed it after I posted this one.

Naw, you didn't rip off my thread. I like this one, and it seems to have taken off better, too! ^.^

I love the ending of this book- it just gives a kind of feel to it that having all problems resolved doesn’t. The problem is that there isn’t a sequel...
