Book Debate: Hogwarts Houses
Throughout the Harry...

Throughout the Harry Potter series, we've seen the different virtues and characteristics of the Harry Potter houses. We know each of their symbols, and their traits; wisdom, courage, loyalty, and cunning.

While calling a certain house 'best' is usually just used casually, when talking about your own house, it made me wonder if there really was a Hogwarts house that could be considered 'best'. Which virtue out of the four is most important, if you could consider one more important than the others.

A few rules before we begin discussion:

1. Be respectful. Attacking someone's argument based on that person themself isn't okay. Remember this is a lighthearted debate, and isn't meant to be very serious at all.

2. Provide evidence. Saying "you're wrong" and nothing else is not allowed here, unless you want to argue with someone's claim and will post the argument later.

And that's it! I hope you'll enjoy this thread, and I'll be posting a few things about each of the houses to help begin the discussion once this thread is posted.

Thank you for your time!

I love this idea, but I would suggest that ambition/drive is the biggest Slytherin trait. Can't wait to start!

I would say that Gryffindor is best because of their bravery. Because you can be cunning, or clever but if you don't have the bravery to do something with it what's the point, but with bravery you can use what you've learned to stand up and make a difference. I'm not saying that the people in the other houses can't do this I just think Gryffindor can do it better
