Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Words!
Hey guys!Whe ...

Hey guys!

When reading the other day, I came across this quote:

"If people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane." -John Green, Looking for Alaska

Do any of you have quotes that really stand out?

It's not exactly from a book, as I haven't read the original. But recently, I was listening to The Hunchback of Notre Dame: The Musical and I came across this quote:

"What makes a monster and what makes a man?"

And it's really kinda stuck with me.

I've noticed a lot of really profound quotes from musicals recently. I recently saw the show Dear Evan Hansen, and a ton of those quotes have really stuck with me.

Oof, yeah, DEH is full of good quotes for stuff like that. I'm trying to think of some of the others I've amassed over the years (read: year XD).

"Dying ain't so bad, not if we both go together. Only when one's left behind does it get sad." -Dying Ain't So Bad, Bonnie and Clyde

"No one deserves to disappear." -Disappear, Dear Evan Hansen

"Does the story end, or never end? Does the secret fade...or is it everlasting?" -Everlasting, Tuck Everlasting

"You don't need to live forever, Winnie. You just need to live. ..do you understand?" -The Wheel, Tuck Everlasting

"The earth will shake, the sky will scream, once I bring the power of the hurricane!" -Hurricane, Death Note: The Musical

And tons more that my mind is totally blanking on now.

I know all these musical theater quotes, but when I'm put on the spot like this, I can't remember any! I'm currently in a production of Seussical and my favorite line is "I'm alone in the universe, so alone in the universe. My own planets and stars are glowing."

My favorite To Kill a Mockingbird quote ever:

"I felt the starched walls of a pink cotton penitentiary closing in on me."

"Dying is easy, son. Living is harder." -George Washington from Hamilton

Hamilton is full of really great quotes. "And when my time is up, have I done enough? Will they tell my story?"

Oh! I have one from DEH.

"Did you fall, or did you let go?"

When I saw that show recently, it was kind of funny how the whole theater collectively went "ohh" at that part!

I read a lot of books and there are a lot of quotes I could put on here but I chose this one because I guess it makes me think.

"Nothing is too wonderful to be true" -Kathryn Lasky, Chasing Orion

This is a very sad book, but beautiful in it's own way. Even though you probably should be a little older than 11 to read it.
