Recommendations for me

I am very picky with books, and I would like some recommendations if anyone has any.
I don't really like historical books or fantasy books... (In general, I do every once in a while do)
I guess I like books set in somewhat modern day, and with a good plot, but not to extreme of a plot. I don't like books that just talk about drama at school, but like I said I don't really like fantasy... For example, some of my favorite books are Jeremy Fink And The Meaning Of Life by Wendy Mass, Every Soul A Star by Wendy Mass, Raymie Nightingale by Kate Dicamillo and Louisiana's Way Home by Kate Dicamillo.

It's been a while since I've read it so I can't quite remember if it fits all of your specifications but I think that you might enjoy Unhooking the Moon by Gregory Hughes.
