Love, love, LOVE the books.Laughing I got them on Cd's from my library and am now 'rereading' them. Has anyone seen the movies? I uasully watch them about 3 times a year. Maybe I'm wrong. I like how the books are a giant allegory. Did you know Tolkien was friends with C.S. Lewis? My friend is also reading the books.

Hi!! I really love Lord of the Rings. People say they're boring but it just seems that way because they're hard to read.... They're really awesome. And I've seen the first movie, it was SO GOOD!!! I really want to read the Silmarillion as well....

omg LotR is amaazing. 

I've seen the movies, all of them are good, but The Two Towers is my favorite. It's my favorite of the books too. No spoilers but Miranda Otto as Eowyn...so cool, such good acting Smile 

Have you read any other Tolkien works (like the Silmarillion, or Beren and Luthien)?

I love The Lord of the Rings too!  I especially enjoy reading the second book.  What's your favorite book in the trilogy?  I haven't seen the movies yet, I don't know if I want to.  I like the way I see the characters and scenery in my mind.  I worry if I watch the movies I will only see what the movie characters looked like instead of what I thought they looked like when I read the book.

Yeah, I understand. I didn't have that problem because I saw the movies before reading  the books, so to me, I always see Frodo as Elijah Wood and Legolas as Orlando Bloom and so on.

yeah I must admit the movie fixed some of the images in my mind....

but they did a really good job for the most and apparently most of the conceptual artists/designers/actors are Tolkien fans, so they tried to stick to the book.

Also, personally, Ian McKellen looks EXACTLY like Gandalf so no criticism there Wink
