Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Mysterious Benedict Society
I know some...

I know some of you CBers may have seen me post about this series but if you have read it, or interested in reading it, this is the thread for you! I am excited to see how many CBers have read this series because I have seen no mentions of this book so far!

Oh MY GOODNESS!!! I love those books so much. However, I feel like the new one, Riddle of Ages, does no justice to the earlier novels.  The author would have done better just to leave the original trilogy alone.

I completely agree. I was kind of sad when I figured out they were older, but I fell in love with Tai! I loved that series so much

K so I have the first 3 books and the prequel and I swear I have read Prisoner's Dilemma & the prequel like over four times each. They are SO GOOD!

@cerinthe (sorry if I spelled that wrong)

YES!! I have read the first three twice! I also LOVE the prequel!!! (forgot what it was called)

Also, I don't know if you have read this but there is a 'puzzle book' called Mr. Benedict's Book of Perplexing Puzzles  and it is really cool! It has a bunch of riddles and puzzles. Also, there is another book written by Trenton Lee Stewart that is also really good! It is called The Secret Keepers.

Ooh, yes, I have the puzzle book, it's pretty cool. Though I don't understand all of it. And Secret Keepers is amaaaazing I actually might like it better than Mysterious Benedict Society. Trenton Stewart is so smart xD

Oh, I'm glad someone made this thread! I read the first book and loved it, but I actually never finished the second book because I kinda lost interest in it once there was all this fighting and stuff on the island, and I was really into the other books I was reading at the time. But I might give it another chance.

@PygmyOwl, I am reading that one now! When I started, I was kind of sad that Renyie, Kate, Sticky, and Constance had grown up like about 5 years (in the 4th book they never specify the ages). As I kept reading, the suspense and adventure made it a little better, but it was still a little off to me. The other books are great though! Not saying the last one isn't 'great' but it's 'good'.

I got the first three books for my B-day a few years ago (the 4th had not come out yet) and I LOVED it! Then I reread them this year so I could read the 4th one. I had forgotten how GOOD IT IS!!!!

oh my gosh these books are amazing.

I agree though, the latest book was unnecessary. Not to be mean but I think the Mysterious Benedict Society was better with just four members...........

Has anyone read Trenton Lee Stewart's other (unrelated) novel, The Secret Keepers?

Yeah I like the secret keepers though its not as good as the others, and yes the new book in mysterious benidict society was not nearly as good as the others. I cant beileve that Kate doesnt have her bucket!

I know! And Sticky wants to be called George! It just kind of ruins the nostalgia.
