Where's That From? Contest/Game Thing
Post a quote...

Post a quote from a book, then try to guess what book it is from.

This is a cool idea! Here's one:

"I wonder why I don't wake up this early more often -- it's kind of beautiful, the way everything is still and silent. The way the world feels half-finished in the almost-light."

That quote might be hard, and it's from a book that might be a bit mature for some CBers, so here's another, perhaps easier, one:

"{Character A} raised both eyebrows. ‘Well, you learn a new thing every day,” he said reflectively. ‘In your case, that’s no exaggeration,’ {Character B} said, completely straight-faced."

No clue for the first one but is the second one from a PJO book?

“Mom. I have something to tell you. I’m undead. Now, I know you may have some preconceived notions about the undead. I know you may not be comfortable with the idea of me being undead. But I’m here to tell you that undead are just like you and me … well, okay. Possibly more like me than you.”

Ooh! That's from one of the City of Ashes/City of Bones/whatever that series is called books, right?

Also, all the guesses of mine were wrong, sorry. Would you like a hint?

Go not to the Elves for counsel for they will answer both no and yes.

I know a Tolkien quote when I see one. I'm pretty sure it's Frodo, but it might have been Bilbo or someone else.

I think Frodo says that, right?

I don't think it was Frodo, he did just get out of his tweens after all. Actually don't trust what I'm saying, I just really like Tolkins comment about the tweens. Roughly what the comment says: 'After all he was in his tweens, the odd time in ones twenties before they come of age at thirty-three.'

Ooh, how about this one? It shouldn't be too hard for anyone who's read it...

"Hey, {A}" {B} said, elbowing {A}'s side. "Wanna bet on how long this Tribunal is going to last? You get to name your terms - oh, but if you lose, you'll have to wear a metal diaper to school and call me Lord Hunkyhair from now on."wznhi

First scene of Flashback, KotLC series, Keefe talking to Ro. *Spoiler alert: Keefe wins the bet lol* I love KotLC, Keefe's my fave, naturally. The ending of book 8.5 was soooo annoying... Shannon and her cliffhangers *sigh*.

Yes! Keefe talking to Fitz, actually, but yeah. I KNOW, RIGHT!?! I can't wait until November when the next book comes out. :)

I have more!

"When I was seven I ran away from the orphanage to join the circus. They brought me back, but I just ran away again, and I kept running away every time they brought me back. Eventually it was decided that I could join the circus and save everybody a lot of trouble."

"When our dragon declared war on Indiana, I knew it was going to be a bad day."
