Chatterbox: Blab About Books

What're You Reading?
I don't know...

I don't know if this is already a thread, but here's a "What Are You Currently Reading?" thread!

So it's pretty self-explainatory, but here you post what book/audiobook you're reading/listening to right now!

Right now, I'm reading The Harlem Charade.

Currently I'm reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen!

Older books like that are a little harder for me to follow, so I find that listening to an audiobook while reading along really helps! The way the person says certain words in dialogue helps me figure out what they may mean. I'm on chapter 16 right now.

Oh my goodness! My CAPTCHA (I believe when I first joined I named my CAPTCHA "Chia") just said "oread"!!! She said her first word! And on the BaB section too!

Wow I'm impressed! I attempted to read Sense and Sensibility once because my mom really likes it, and I had to watch the movie and a play before I started reading it just so I would understand the plot...but I don't think I even got halfway through before I gave up xD I've watched the TV show of Pride and Prejudice though, and it was good.

As of right now, I'm working my way through the Warriors series. I probably should have read it a while ago but my sister dragged me into it so :p I'm currently on the last book of the second series (the new prophecy) which is Sunset. I try to read a book a day, which has worked out well so far, but there are like a thousand more books to read so we'll see how this goes.

Right now I'm rereading the Aru Shah series in anticipation for the release of the fourth and final book!  For those of you who haven't heard of the series, it's kind of like Percy Jackson with Hindu mythology, but in my opinion it's better than Percy Jackson.  The story focuses around a girl named Aru, who accidentally frees an ancient demon and discovers that she's the reincarnation of one of the famous Pandava brothers from Hindu mythology... I won't spoil anything, but if you haven't read it you should!

At the moment I'm reading The Lord of the Rings, but since it's a reeeaaally long book I'm taking it one chapter a day. After I read one chapter I read a different book (unless I get an unsuppressable urge to read a bunch of LOTR, which has happened more than once). My other book right now is the first book of the Keepers of the Lost Cities series, which I started yesterday night when I was supposed to be sleeping XD

I'm reading the Fairyland series by Catherynne M. Valente and they are SO GOOD. I think I read them for the first time in second or third grade and not since then, and I don't think I fully appriciated the author's genius. The little references and jokes are so sly and funny, and the style is completely unique.

Hey I'm reading those books too!! They're so good. They remind me of Alice in Wonderland, but better xD

I'm almost done with Russian Roulette, by Anthony Horowitz. Has anyone else read that series?

I'm rereading Little Women in the spirit of my school play (which is also Little Women)! It's my favorite book, it makes me so happy to read.

I looooovveee Little Women!!!!! It's one of my favorite books too! The morals are so inspiring and true and the story is heart-warming and beautiful!

Also, that's awesome that your school is having a Little Women play! I'm homeschooled so I've never been in a school play (though I did audition for a homeschool Harry Potter play but then COVID hit). Did you get a part?

I agree, it's such a beautiful story! I cry every time I read it. I'm really excited about the play, since we didn't know if we were going to have one this year! I'm the Hag, which isn't a huge part, but we have a really small cast and I get to stand inside a tree. :)
