Percy Jackson
This has probably...

This has probably been submitted before, but I couldn't find the thread so I'm doing it again.

I've gotten into Percy Jackson again because I decided to reread it, and the community/fandom is great! I honestly just wanna talk about it, so here's the thread!

Needless to say by the location I often put, I am a big Rick Riordan fan, and have read many of his books 6 or 7 times. My first (slightly unpopular) statement is that I think Magnus Chase is the worst of the Riordan book series. I still think it's amazing, just not as good. Also, my even more unpopular opinion is that Kane Chronicles is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and underrated and needs more attention. The Egyptian myths are really interesting and I love the sibling dynamic! Plus I think the whole concept of being the eye of a god and working in perfect harmony is cool. Just my personal opinion, though!

I LOVE Percy Jackson (But you can probably tell that by my username) I just started reading the Kane Chronicles, too, and I haave the Red Pyramid next to me right now. I do agree that Magnus Chase isn't the best series out of all five of them Rick Riordan has written. It's probably the worst, but it's still OK, and that shows you how great an author he is.

Yes, yes, yessss!!!

Personally, I haven't really gotten into the fandom, but I LOVE the 'Riordan books,' for lack of a better term. While I do agree that Magnus Chase wasn't nearly as engaging for me, that may just be the bleaker setting and fantasy...

Come to thing about it, it's been a while since I've reread these series. I should go do that.

Well, ciao for now~

can't help but to agree ;) I've been using this name since 2012

Percy Jackson is definitely my comfort book and the characters give me a sense of home no other shows/books can provide.

Can I just say that The Heroes of Olympus was kind of underwhelming? I mean Percy Jackson was really, really, great. I just finished it and started The Lost Hero. It's confusing, and the transition between characters doesn't really work. It's hard to keep up with all the backstories, and the use of third person makes it hard to remember who's narrating, if it wasn't on the top of the page. The stuff about the Roman's doesn't really work, either. It's alright if you like it, but I personally am not a fan.

i prefer heroes of olympus (just by a little bit) becuase it feels like it was made for an older audience. i don't know why, but it gives me that vibe

I absolutely disagree Annabeth. I think Percy Jackson is amazing. It's been my go to book since forever. Daughter of the Deep is coming out soon and I'm insanely excited. However Heroes of Olympus is amazing in my opinion. We get to meet so many new cool people. Sorry if this sounds passive aggressive but it's my weirdly passionate opinion.

I am a kind of in-between Juniper and Annabeth. I thought that the Heroes of Olympus ending was a bit underwhelming, there were less sacrifices against a supposedly more dangerous foe. The one character who died immediately came back to life. However, I loved seeing the different people and all their different backstories, and can I just sy that Hazel and Frank don't get enough credit?
