Comfort Books
What are your...

What are your comfort books? Books that you've read so many times that always make you feel better, or that are your go-to when you're upset or have nothing to read. I'm curious what other people's are!

My comfort books are any of the Ranger's Apprentice books, they always cheer me up. Little Women is another, definitely, it's my favorite. Bookishly Ever After- it's a little cheesy (it's a YA romcom), but I've read it a dozen times and I love it. My comfort book when I was younger was Spilling Ink, which is a book about writing. I read it so often that it got to the point where I could quote it basically word for word. Trumpet of the Swan was another one when I was younger (I still love these books)!

I've just started the first Ranger's Apprentice book! It's really good so far! My go to comfort book is Awkward. It's a graphic novel and it always make me feel better, I can read it in half an hour and I love it! I'll be back later with more!

My comfort books are Goodbye Stranger by Rebecca Stead, which I've read too many times to count (I'm reading Across the Pond right now and I wasn't sure I liked it until they mentioned that the main character was reading Goodbye Stranger and then I was like yes I must finish this book), The Penderwicks series by Jeanne Birdsall (especially Gardam Street), and of course the Harry Potter books.

Awkward is a really good graphic novel! Have you read the two other books in the series?

Harry Potter and The Penderwicks are mine as well! I've read Gardam Street and Point Mouette so many times that I can open them to any page and know what is happening.

The Secret Series! It's not really my go-to and I have only read it a few times but I still consider it my comfort books because they make me really happy.

The. Chronicles. Of. Narnia. Gets better every time you read it.

Also my favorite and one of the best series of all time.

Period.

Anne of Green Gables. I mean, need I say more? It's so gentle and calm. It feels like so much and hardly anything happens in each chapter at the same time, and there's something so strangely calming about being dropped into a town where everyone has known everyone else for years and years. I'll always love this book. <3

I absolutely agree with you! I've read it so many times that I'm an Anne of Green Gables encyclopedia. Also, I LOVE the BSC series, Harry Potter, and Little Women. They are all fantastic.

Anything and everything by Rick Riordan! I've also read the graphic novels Smile and Sisters sooo many times, they're some of my favorites :) There's a few other series/books that I sometimes go back to but I'm usually not someone who rereads a lot.

Smile and Sisters are really good, and that reminds me that Ghosts by Raina Telgemeier is also one of my favorite books. It's just the best graphic novel ever...I think I read it twice in the last week :|
