Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Book Club
With Lupine's idea...

With Lupine's idea from the Book Club Book recommendation, I made a book club thread. (Sorry Lupine if it hurts your feeling. :(  But I'll listen to your idea and add them to the activity! Since it was originally your idea. :) So please add them to the comment. And the rest of you, too! If you want to do an activity that I didn't talk about, please let me know.)

Each month we'll read same book seperately, (since we can't meet) and we'll select an activity we want to do. Here are some list of activities I though about: Book report, creating a new character to the book(sort of like RPs), crafting, writing some short stories inspired by the book we read. (I never done a book club before, so I don't know much about it, so the book club I suggested can be different from what you already know. Let me know if you don't like this and I'll fix it if possible.

Please write some books you'd like to read with us when you decided to join. AND please write "I want to join" if you decided to join. *You can skip a month or two anytime if you are busy*

The book club starts on November and I'd want to read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for the first month. Any other ideas?

OK! I really need to be clear. Are we reading Frankenstien as a preview book? If so, which one? And what is our book for next month????

Since there are questions about preview book, Frankenstein, and next month's book, I'll make it clear today.

Like Leaf (maybe?) said, Halloween is coming up, so I think we should read Frankenstein as preview book (Anyone disagree?) What is Preview Book?: We are going to show other CBers how our book club works and see if they want to join until the first week of November.

I heard there are lots of types of Frankenstein, so I'll say: it doesn't matter. I know other book clubs read exactly the same book, but since it's impossible to meet with other CBers, we'll just ignore types of Frankenstein this time. It's still Frankenstein anyway. (We'll try to read the EXACTLY the same book next month. Sorry I'm not really well-prepared, but since there are only few days left until November starts, so we need to be in hurry.)

Please vote for November book!

- Ghost By. Raina Telgemeier

- Warriers: Into the Wild By. Erin Hunter

- Maze Runner By. James Dashner

- The Witch of Blackbird Pond By. Elizabeth George Speare

- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone By. J.K. Rowling

What activity should we do for Frankenstein(if we use Frankenstein for Preview Book)?

- Summary

- Book Report

- Craft

-Adding a new Character

- Writing up some short stories inspired by the book

(Any other ideas?)

And don't forget! We're going to vote for our logo during the first week of November, so you can draw it until Novmeber 1st. You don't have to do it if you don't want to, but I know a lot of you like drawing, so I just made up this event.

Just a suggestion; maybe we shouldn't read anything for the month of October given it's already almost up.  People might not have time to get to the library or read the book after it has been aquired.

Thank you! I vote for Maze Runner because a)I have not read it, and 2)None of my siblings have read it. I have read Ghosts, all of the Harry Potter books, and The Witch of Blackbird Pond (I suggusted it because it is a really interesting book). My sister has read every single warriors book.

I vote for doing a summary first because then, when we do other activities, we can use that if we forget anything.

Thank you again for answering my questions.

I vote The Witch of Blackbird Pond and for the preview book, I think we should do either the Book Report or Summary just since it's the start of the club; something simple.

I want to join, too, Sparkling Rainbow! Let's see...I'll vote for Ghost by Raina Telgemeier because I read one of her book, and it was awesome. Oh, and I'll vote for adding a new character by activity.

Another Question!

Preview OR No Preview

I was planning to have a preview book (Frankenstein), but Tsuki told us many people might not have time to get a book. So mark if you want to do a preview book or not.

I am going to read it since I already got it from the library. Maybe we could do a separate activity for those who are doing the preview book.

I'll take your idea, Pancake! If you want to join, please join for preview book, and if you don't, then please don't. But if you want to join the preview book, please say, "I want to join the preview book activity!"

Also, if I have to show a picture of it, it might take awhile. I will have to get my dad to help.
