CLAMP (a group of MANGA artists) has made good ones so far. Rayearth was ish. I love Tsubasa, although I haven't finished the series yet. Witch Hat Ateleir is probably the most appropriate one I've read. Magus of the Library is also great, and Chi's Sweet Home is AMAZING (hearts for eyes). Cardcaptor Sakura (also by CLAMP) I've never read but I heard it's good.

Most of Hayao Miyazaki's anime films (My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, The Secret World of Arietty, Naussica of the Valley of the Wind, etc.) have been turned into manga books.  The movies are amazing and you should definitely watch them if you haven't, but the manga books are good too; and appropriate.  He did make a few adult films, so be sure the manga books you get aren't those.

I wish you all luck in finding good books to read!

Ooh, I didn't know they had been made into books! That's cool. I think a lot of them are also based on novels.

Ophelia and the Marvelous Boy - it's a fairly unorthodox book, and I think it's one of the earlier books that mixes poetry and prose, with a little more loose/chopped up writing style. It's a great read, and the worldbuilding is incredible.

House on Mango Street - I had to read this for class, and it's great. It's composed of vignettes, and it has great symbolism and use of literary devices. It also kind of meshes poetry and prose, and you can turn to any page, and it'll still make sense.

*muffled scream* ALex Rider!! It's by Anthony Horowitz, and amzing series about a 14-year-old who's blackmailed into spying for the government which sounds weird but it's SO GOOD and it's not just another spy book cause he doesn't want to do it and argh I could keep going but just read it okay
