Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Admins, I have

Admins, I have a question about--**Drumroll**--Cricket magazine! Yes, I am actually using CaC for magazine-related subjects.

Anyway, I'm wondering how far in advance you decide what stories go into each magazine, and what the selection process is like. Thanks! I just want to know this because I'm a very curious person.

Curiousity didn't kill the cat! No, it simply helped the cat earn her PhD in Awesomeness!

The issue editor gathers stories and poems about eight months in advance of the publication date of each issue. Then the art director assigns artists to do the illustrations. The page count is determined and house features such as Favorite First Sentences and Cricket Readers Recommend may be added to fill the issue. New stories and poems are submitted to the magazines all the time. We choose the best and may also reprint things from books to complement them.

Did you know, OTR, the whole rhyme?

Curioisty killed the cat; satisfaction brought it back.
