EASTER!How w

EASTER!

How was everybody's Easter?

My mom told me she was toning it down this year, and you bet she did. But I still got a fair amount of candy! And there are so many leftover Peeps that I think I'll be having a microwave jousting* competition later.

But then--horrors of horrors! I had to do yard work all morning, right up until lunch. We were spreading mulch and woodchips in our front yard and back yard--mulch for the gardens and the trees, (we only have two--a (dying) maple tree and a (baby!!!) beech tree.) and woodchips for the part in front of the steps and under our swingset and also under our rope swing.

It took me at least ten minutes of hardcore scrubbing to get all the dirt off my hands and out from under my nails, because I was the one who had to spread all the mulch around.

Yes, I know there's such a thing as work gloves and we have a million pairs. But mine quickly got sand and/or mulch in them, and they got soggy too because--(of course) it rained the night before so all the mulch got soaked. Also, my middle right finger only has half a fingernail right now so the gloves hurt that finger.

Don't ask.

*Microwave jousting: this is a very "cruel" thing to do to the Peeps: you poke toothpicks into the bottoms of two Peeps to stand them up, and stick a toothpick into their wing too, (the "jousting stick") and then you prop them up in the microwave. Then you turn the microwave on and they "joust". Explode, too.

Don't try this at home, kids!!!

Mwahaha.

My Easter was great, thanks! We dyed eggs, did a plastic candy egg hunt, a 'mini' Seder, and garden work. Which was fun, but I seriously got a crick in my back from bending over for ten straight minutes digging holes with my new trowel through plastic. Phew, I'm glad that's over. I also got a Peter rabbit chocolate bunny in my Easter basket, whose candy eyes always look down, at his candy carrot which falls off no matter how many times I honey-glue it back on. Microwave jousting sounds so fun! I'll have to try it with the next peeps I get, although, having real live chicks will make me feel guilty. XD
