I'm new here!

I'm new here!

Hi, I'm Polaroid and I'm new to the CB! Well, kind of. I used to be called Pastella, but I became really inactive and started changing my name a lot. So, I am restarting on the CB.

I hope to make posts that brighten your day, and I am obsessed with quotes! I love to write stories, even though most of the time I don't finish them.

I also love love love to draw! I don't really shade that well, though, so I'd appreciate it if you guys gave some tips?

Sorry, that's about all. I had to cut this short. But if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here.

Hi Polaroid! I remember you from when you were Pastella. My tip for doing shading in drawings only works if you are using pencil or something else that erases easily. When I shade, I usually use a pencil and after I make the part that I want darkest very dark, then I make the part next to it a little lighter, then the next one a little lighter, and I keep doing that until I fill up the space that I'm shading, then I take an eraser and erase the darker into the lighter. Sorry, that probably was very confusing. If you want me to post pictures of how I do it so it makes more sense I will.

Hi! I remember when you were Pastella. How did you do those little arrows?!? They're so cool! Sorry, I don't have any tips for shading, not being able to do it myself.

My captcha says hazy! That's her first real word!!!

Thanks! All you have to do is go on the internet and search "arrow symbols" or something like that. Then copy and paste them.

Hi, Polaroid! I remember you as Pastella! If you don't remember anything about me, I'mm give you a brief summary.

My real name is Natalie. On the CB I've gone by (in order from first to most recent): Natalie, Jack-a-Nat, CNN Reporter, and now Moonlight. I'm SUPER obsessed with the Inheritance Cycle. I also love fantasy. My favorite color is turquoise. I have a dog named Jackie.

That's basically it!

Arya says pufr. Like puff. "Puff the magic dragon, lives by the sea..."

Hey, polaroid! I'm Bluebird, and I love your name!

Shading tips- if you're a righty, work left to right, and if you're a lefty, work right to left. To avoid smudging, put a paper under your shading hand and hold the paper still. I shade lightly over everything except the lightest parts first (and hold the pencil sideways, parallel to the table, to get broader strokes), then add layers, getting darker.

B pencils (2B, 4B, 6B, etc.) are pencils that are softer and darker than a no. 2 pencil. You can get them at any craft store. (They're helpful if you shade things too dark at first like me!)

H pencils (2H, 4H, 6H, etc.) have harder lead than a no. 2 pencil and make lighter marks. You can also find these at any craft store.

Pay attention to reflective light, it makes still life look 100 times more realistic. Look up reflective light if you don't know what it is, I can't really explain it without a picture, but there are plenty of tutorials that can.

I've got nothing else. Welcome back!
