YO GUESS WHAT?

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

YO GUESS WHAT?

YO GUESS WHAT?

Where do you think the CB's OLDEST thread is?  Also, if it's okay with the admins, can we make this an ask admins thread?

Sure, ask away.

The oldest thread is from June 18, 2008.

That's awesome!  I think that was the year my younger cousin was born (I have no siblings -_-)!

But what I meant was what "section" of the CB, like InkWell or here, at Chirp at Cricket.

Which section is it in?

Admins, where are you from? Nothing personal, just what city or state, but if you don't want to answer you don't have to.

Also, do all three of you admins know each other very well?

I grew up in Rochester, NY, and went to college in Vermont. Now I live in a small town in central Illinois. No, we don't know each other very well. Only one works from the office. So we only contact each other via email.

Funny, I always pictured you guys knowing each other in my mind! Kind of like you working in an office or something, saying stuff like, "Come look at this nonsense that Bluebird's posting now." Do you work from home, or is there a building where Cricket Staff work?

I have a question, if you are allowed to answer it- what does the page where you look at our posts/comments look like? How does it work?

Well, one of us works from the Cricket office in Chicago. We do share specific comments via email.

We have access to the whole list of comments (by the first few words) as they come in. We click on one at a time, which brings us to a screen with the whole comment opened in a box. We review it, edit if necessary, then click on Publish (or Delete if not suitable).

@Admins, do you believe in aliens?

Also, are you the Blue Moon ice cream Admin? If so will you tell the story?

No, I don't believe in Aliens.

I'd seen Blue Moon ice cream when on vacation in Wisconsin but never tasted it. I learned that it was only available in Wisconsin and Michigan. Then one day back home in Illinois I saw it in a local grocery store and bought a half gallon. Soon we had a block party. It was October so it got dark early. When it was time for dessert, I hurried home to get the ice cream and brought it back to the buffet table. Then I began to hurry across the dark yard to tell some friends that I'd just put it out and to come quick before it was all gone. But in my haste in the dark I tripped over a beanbag toss game and fell, gashing my leg and breaking my wrist--my right wrist and I'm righthanded. I've not had Blue Moon ice cream since then.

This might be a weird or too personal question, so you don't have to answer. But one of my sisters has autism, and we think my little bro does too. Then it hit me one evening, of "oh, the one Admin who keeps on commenting on my posts reminds me of my sis." So, just curious, do you have autism? Again, odd question, it is just I really think people who have autism, Aspergers, etc. are brilliant. Then again, it could just be your awesome personality, Admin, that reminds me of my sister and brother.

No, I don't have autism. And I'm quite sure the other Admin I've met does not, but there's a third one I've never met. Plus two or more past Admins that have moved on to other things, and I don't really know them either.

Ah, okay. One of the Admins has a really awesome personality that I've come to recognize from my family members who have autism. Regardless, Admin, you have a brilliant personality, and I think we all really enjoy when you comment on our work, give suggestions, and so forth. Thank you for for being our Admin!

You're very welcome. I am continually awed by the wisdom of the advice and the creativity of the writing that is submitted by all of you!

So, Admin, you don't have to answer this question if you don't want to, it's not really a great one, but here we go. Do you enjoy Ask Admin threads and answering our questions, or when they pop up, is it more like "Darn it, Leafmist is asking another question, now I have to take time away from posting other comments to reply."?

I enjoy answering them. But Admins are supposed to remain quite anonymously in the background, so we may not answer with many specific details.

Ooh, cool!

@Admins, have you ever seen Riverdance? If not, you should check it out sometime! ^^ It's really cool, and my friends and I from dance went to see Riverdance 20 at a performance hall.

Also, really random question, but I just had a chocolate chip muffin, so: Do you like chocolate chip muffins or blueberry ones better?

Thanks so much, Admins! You guys are awesome.

I've not seen Riverdance live, but I have seen videos of them. And I have seen other fantastic Irish dancers.

I guess I'd say blueberry, although muffins in general are not one of my favorite foods. I prefer pie and cookies!

@Killim:

I LOVE Riverdance! They came to my city a few weeks ago and I was fascinated by them. (I know you weren't talking to me but I had to find a fellow Riverdance fan :) )

@Admins:

you might not be able to answer these, but:

1. What's the craziest post you've ever seen?

2. Do you ever look at a post that's come in and wonder what's going on in that thread?

3. Do you want us to call you "Admins" or "Admin"? Most CBers seem to adress their posts to you as "Admins" but you always sign yours "Admin". Do you have a preference?

~Starseeker

1. I don't know about crazy. But many comments make me smile or laugh.

2. Yes, many times. I can usually track back to the thread on which the comment is going to, but it takes extra time to do that, so I don't always do it. I do check sometimes if a comment sounds rude, to see what it's responding to, and to see if it's a real direct comment to another CBer or just one story character talking to another.

3. I don't care. I use Admin, the first 5 letters of Administrator. To me Admins addresses all of us, not just the one reading the comment.

Coolio! Sorry for my late response, lol.

Yeah, I saw it live, and it was a great experience. I Irish Dance too, so it was nice to watch something and dream of being in it.

But who knows, anything can happen if you try hard, right? ^^

I am so excited to find someone else that Irish dances!

I like the treble reel and the slip jig, and I am Novice/Prizewinner level.
