Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

@Admin

See new note from Admin at the end of this thread.

Okay, I know people have been asking you questions all day about this. But I felt I should ask in my own words.

So... Regarding +'s post and the LGBT topic in general. What are the boundaries? Because I am a bit upset about the idea that we can't have diverse characters. I mean, I understand that we can but it is way more limited than regular characters. For my Solo Writes and RPs I encourage having diversity - different races and LGBT. Then I see that this isn't really allowed.

For example, I know your guidelines like the back of my hand. I know heavy romance isn't allowed, you've made that quite clear. But you always allowed regular crushing/shipping and a bit of hugging/holding hands. But when I see others attempt that with LGBT characters it is deleted or altered. How come? I mean, isn't it the same thing? Those characters are still human (or alien, if it is sci fi). So what's the difference?

I am only trying to sort out why you are putting boundaries on these things. Like, I understand boundaries when it comes to romance between any group. But allowing it for one and not for another is just... I don't know, a bit unfair?

Again, I just want to clear these things before I even try using LGBT characters in my stories. I want to, because it is something that has been around for hundreds of years! It makes the stories more realistic. But I need to know why/what boundaries there are for it.

LG characters are allow, but explicit romance is limited. We can't put all specifics into a statement or rules. We do our best to apply the same guidelines to all characters. But Admin will always reveiw each comment before posting. You are 16. Maybe you'd be more comfortable writing stories with these characters someplace else. @Admins

I have a question similar to Owlgirl's. Why is it that LGT is definitely allowed and B must be separately evaluated? I don't think that characters who are bi are more likely to have scenes of explicit romance than characters who are L, G, or T.

Please tell me if I misunderstood anything you said.

And I want to just reassure you, Admins, that I still like and respect you and your wishes, and your little comments in italics at the end of posts still make me happy. Like Owlgirl said, "I'm not feeling any anger or anything. I'm calmly expressing my thoughts." Thank you, Admins, for keeping this site safe from cursing or anything else inappropriate.

All diverse characters are welcome to have diverse friends,
both males and females, and Chatterboxers may write about their activities
within Chatterbox guidelines. We feel somewhat cautious about how the term
“sexual” is used on the Chatterbox, but will monitor all posts with equal care.

I have the same question as Applejaguar here, with no disrespect. I understand how steadfastly you stick to your opinion, Admin, and I respect that. I agree with your opinion. Still, why are bi characters in a separate category than LG and T? Bi is basically just halfway between between LG and straight, but they tend to be ignored by both communities. I only wonder why LGBT isn't a group, treated the same on the CB, instead of LGT and B somewhere off by itself.

Admins, if you are going to dislike my comment at least give a tange of expect and give me your reasoning instead of deleting everything without a word. This is quite out of the box disrespectful and distruptive to the peace here. If you please just settle what we have with the right and fair things then all this - from everyone - will stop. You know, I've been talking to some peeps, and we all agree not a single one of us can sleep at night because of this.

Ashlee, the comments you are demanding we answer and publish concern themes we do not discuss on Chatterbox. There are other places for them.

Uhm... Might I correct you? There was no "demand" but a simple "please". And that still didn't answer what I asked now twice. If you don't want me here you can simply ask instead of saying many times that there are other places for people my age to go. And how on earth is that a concerning theme? It is no different than what everyone else is asking!

Well, you've asked several times in language that seemed demanding to me, but you can call it requesting if you prefer. I don't understand what you are asking now. When we read a new comment we don't see all that preceded it.

Heartbroken, everyone IS allowed. They can have diverse friends. We just limit the description of certain kinds of activities for ALL characters.
