Threads on the CB.

 

I'm an older CBer. I came back to check in on the CB. And what do I see? A bunch of threads with barely any people paying attention to. 

There's been a lot of random threads popping up. Most of them end up with, like, 0-1 comments. And you know what that leads to? You guessed it, a bunch of threads no one cares about!

And on the Inkwell, there's a bunch of RPs that aren't even getting any comments, and those are pushing the RPs that people actually care about farther and farther back.

But, y'know, no one's gonna care about this thread. It's gonna get pushed back too.

Again, if anyone gets offended by this rant, sorry if you're hurt because no one cares.

I don't really see your point as far as the Inkwell is concerned; the only thread on the top page with 0 comments was posted only 14 hours ago, so people haven't had much time to post.

In DtE, I get it though. It's because someone started a thread where we all just posted lines from a Journey song, and it was fun, but then everybody started making their own and it kinda got old fast. I considered making a thread about it, but I figured it's not really hurting anybody. I think if people care enough about a certain RP or thread as you say, they'll be able to muster up the strength to press the "next page" button once or twice and find it.

Yeah, I agree with HAB here. I think this site is designed well enough that clutter doesn't matter much, and threads are usually very temporary, unless it's like the Art Posting thread or the Longest Thread Ever or the Unltimate Guide. If you want to see a thread enough, everybody is perfectly capable of clicking the next page button.

I agree on the music threads. I love how people are having fun, but it's getting to be a little too much. I see a post that I think will be saying something but then it's only a song, which to me is disappointing.

I completely agree with you. Those song threads are fun, I guess, but get old fast. They're also really annoying when you expect it to be an actual thread and it's just song lyrics.

Yeah, like hab said, if they really care about the threads they'll go to the second page to comment. (Also, if you are "just popping in" then why should you be concerned about what's happening?)

I agree. But I don't think that we can do anything about it, other than, well, stop posting so many meaningless threads and pay attention to the ones we already have!

However, I do think what you said at the end was kinda rude. People do care if you get hurt from reading anything, and you can't just throw that off.

I agree with A Different Nobody. That part at the end was actually really rude. I care if people are hurt! Seriously, if you're an older CBer just coming back to post this thread, I don't think that's the best thing to post.

I agree.

If you have just hopped on here from venturing for years outside of the CB, you may not know how things are, or have changed. If nobody seems offended by this system (which I don't think they should be), there's no reason to change something that doesn't need it. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I agree with all of yall, but this person is probably a little hurt with what we're saying. . . right? Whoe8ver you are, I don't think any of us are trying to hurt you or your feelings we just wanted to say what we thought in response.

And the ones that don't get commented on will sink. Big whoop. Proof that the CB's algorithm for which threads are on the first page works.

 

Also, you do realize your last sentence was an oxymoron, right? You literally apologized in the same sentence you said no one cared.
