Ask The Admins!

Have you ever wanted to ask the admins a question? The admins are the helpful people that review our posts to make sure they are okay, and then publish them! You may be familiar with this thread, as it has been posted before. You can ask the admins anything, as long as it isn't inappropriate and isn't about anybody's personal lives. I think this thread will be really fun! Also, for the admins to reply, you need to start your question with, "@Admins."

I'll start.

@Admins,

What is your favorite food and why?

OH, I can't name ONE favorite food! If I HAD to say one, I guess I'd say spaghetti with meat sauce. But also near the top: chicken with rice and stirfry vegetables, warm buttered bread (just out of the oven), fresh, ripe peaches, mocha chip frozen custard in a waffle cone, cran/orange/pecan pie, . . . Can you tell it's getting close to suppertime? Why? Because I like them.

I love these threads!

@Admins,

If you could choose a CB name, what would it be?

Well . . . I'm not fast at all at making decisions. I would likely want to think about it for a long time and brainstorm a list from which to select. However, in the interest of time, knowing that I am also impatient waiting for answers, I'm going to say Winter Dreamer (partly because it's really hot and humid today and partly because I've just learned that Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 1 is called "Winter Daydreams," which I think is a lovely name).

@Admins,

what do you type on?

Usually on an iMac, but sometimes on a Samsung Galaxy tablet or smartphone.

@Admins, what's your favorite dessert?

I love everything with caramel in it: caramel ice cream, chocolate covered caramels, caramel cheesecake... But I also love berry crisp and pecan pie!

Wow Admin, I like anything with caramel in it too! What's your favorite school subject? I really like English.

English literature, geography, physics, and music

Who are the Admins? Cool thread, though.

Hello, Arrietty! The admins are Cricket Media employees who keep things running behind the scenes here at the Chatterbox. We're the ones who review all content before it is posted. And sometimes we chime in to say hello.

Thanks for letting me know, Admins. What are some of your hobbies and interests?

I play violin in our community orchestra and enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing (cross-country). I love to travel, both to natural places like the national parks and also to other cultures, artworks, etc.

@Admins, what are your favorite posts/things to read on the CB?

{Note: I am not saying that I’m Jwyn just to clarify. I’m just posting their question again so that the Admins see it.}

I just heard from Jwyn and posted my answer.

@Admins, what is one book you think everyone in the world should read?

Well, . . . the first book that comes to mind is "The Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank. But there are so many others! Two of them are "The World According to Mister Rogers" and "Remembrance Rock" by Carl Sandburg, the only novel he ever wrote. It seems that few people have heard of it, but it's a masterpiece, the story of the American dream from Europe in the 1500s to the 1940s, beautifully written. It's over one thousand pages long, but I loved it so much that I was sad when there weren't any more  pages to turn!

We haven't had any of these in a while--I'm pretty excited about this thread!

@Admins-

What is your favorite part of your job, and what about it is most challenging?

I guess I'd say my favorite part is hearing from Cricket and Spider readers and Chatterboxers via Cricket's Letterbox, Spider's Mailbox, and Chatterbox. And the most challenging part would be judging Cricket League entries to award prize levels.

@Admins, do you personally hold the belief that eating a combinations of pop rocks and soda induces death? I don't.

I've never thought about it, but it doesn't seem like a good idea. Pop rocks don't appeal to me at all.

Me neither. The last time I ate them I could feel them popping around inside my mouth and I heard one hit my teeth. Too weird for my taste.

I tried it on a dare and I’m still alive, so...

Honestly I love pop rocks and soda (not usually combined, though XD) and that’s why I did it just to get some of my friend’s candy.
