We can be our own cute little one room school house.  Ask questions and offer help, tips, or a new way of looking at things!  Open to all, the only rule is don't offer help unless you're sure it's correct!

I'm currently working on biology, specifically in depth photosynthesis and cellular respiration.  I'm not that good at biology, and I was hoping that someone else who is working on the same thing could offer an overview of the processes.  There's also alot of chemistry involved, but I have a bit of a better handle on that.

Ooh my goodness I need help with geometry.

I have a lot of trouble visualizing what happens to shapes when they're going through transformations. Rotations are most certainly the hardest for me, though. We had a test today, and one of the problems was to figure out what transformation got a shape to its image. I could tell that it was a rotation, but I could not find the center of rotation. I must've spent ten minutes testing every point I could think of. Does anyone have any tips for me?

I tried before to post a GIF, but it didn't work so I'll try and explain it verbally.  Do you know how to bisect a line using a compass?

I LOVE SCHOOL!! As far as I've gotten in it. I also may be doing a different curriculum than a lot of you, but I'll help as much as I can! :)

Yes, this is a wonderful idea, Marigold!

I might actually have something helpful about cellular respiration for you! I made an animation about it when I was in that lesson. I never finished the 'review' at the ending, but if you want I can just type that part out for you (assuming the animation works here).

I've seen FlipAClip GIFs work on the CB before, so I'll try to post it. Hopefully it works and is helpful! However, I think it might run a little fast as a GIF...oh well, we'll just have to see.

I don’t know if I can help much because I’m in sixth grade (accelerated math and extra science elective, but still) I usually talk during class (accelerated was on natural ability mostly and I’ve been told off numerous times) and I’m a whiz at rotating things for sixth grade so I don’t know if I can explain it that well? It’s just easy? I think if you cut out a shape from your notebook and put a pencil in it, you can see what it looks like from different angles and different centers of rotation. This isn’t for solving a specific problem, but it can help you visualize better. Again, I’m in sixth grade and I barely know what a center of rotation is, but I think this might help.

For Marigold, I think Mice’s was great, but I can post a diagram on photosynthesis if you want. I went to this really good elementary school and our teacher said she was teaching us on freshman level for photosynthesis (in fifth grade), so...

Any ideas why a battery I made in class might not work? I made the electrolyte twice to make sure I did it right, and both times it didn’t work. It also might have had something to do with the metals I was using or the motor I was testing it on, but I don’t know what.

This is such a cool thread idea, Marigold!

@Cockleburr, I think I'm good for now, but I may take you up on that Bio help in the future... that's definitely my least favorite subject right now. (Mostly because of the teacher.)

Has anyone read/is reading Lord of the Flies? I'm reading it for English right now and I really like it. I wrote a dang good analysis the other day.
