Post about Christmas!

It’s Christmas Eve Eve. (Also 4th Sunday of Advent for me).

Who's excited? Who’s mega excited? Who’s so excited they occasionally make squeaky shrieks of excitement??? Ok, that last one is probably just me but please share your feelings about the season!

Also, all holidays not just Xmas!!

*makes a squeaky shriek of excitement* I love Christmas Eve Eve! My sister and I just got back from two hours straight of shopping, (a lot of walking around Downtown Portland) and before that we were also shopping for another hour this morning. With lunch in between. I am SO TIRED. *flops*

I spent the 4th Sunday of Advent waiting for tomorrow and making Christmas cookies, so I didn't have a particularly interesting day, but I can't wait for tomorrow!

I'm excited too! I've been making cards and wrapping gifts all morning. Do you think maybe we should give the Admins a break on Christmas eve and Christmas day?

Thank you for thinking of me, Coroline. Someone else suggested that earlier today. I will check in when I have a chance for the next two days, but I also have things to do with my family.

Boyyyy am I excited!!! I spent a lot of time knitting and crocheting presents for everybody and getting excited about giving them. Then, a couple of days ago, I realized that they would be giving presents to me, and that’s when the squeaky shrieks started.

SQEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

After Christmas now, I think?

I'm descended from eastern Europe. Each Christmas Eve, we go to my grandparents and dine on traditional Slovakian food, such as perogies and kolačky(co-LACH-kee) a pastry in wich you cut dough into squares and scoop a bit of jam into them, then put it in the oven. It's so good.). On Christmas Day we host a brunch out our house and my grandparents, my uncle and his family, and my aunt's friend come. For Christmas dinner we go to my other grandparents and my Dad's side of the family. We eat dinner (duh) and open a few gifts (the rest are opened at the brunch).

This year I got The Hunger Games trilogy. How awesome is that!?

Merry Christmas!

Our family's tradition comes from when my dad was in the army stationed in Germany (he was in the US army, he was just there as a translator). They had a bunch of friends over for Chriatmas dinner, but they knew no matter how well they prepared a traditional meal it would never quite compare to the one their friends were missing at home in the States. So instead they used my aunt's fajita recipe for a big dinner of absolutely non-nostalgic food! It went over so well that the tradition continues every year, with all the extended family over to our house for fajitas.

I got some really nice books this year. A huge book of thousands of famous quotes, an anatomical guide for drawing, and a comprehensive outdoor manual for my Venutre Crew and Boy Scout troop!

This thread might last for a while...

PS my age on the CB is my real age, 11 now. At first I was a little scared to put that down 'cause I think most CBers are teens. Right? And also...11...

I really enjoyed Christmas! I got some awesome video games and an extension for a board game I play (it's called Takenoko, does anyone else play it?), as well as all the books for a graphic novel series I love and some clothes. In my stocking, I got an Avatar: The Last Airbender shirt, some fandom pins, candy, and an iPod Touch, which was super awesome. Now it's the Twelve Days of Christmas for me. My dad and I are placing a series of geocaches called the Twelve Caches of Christmas.

Christmas was awesome!!! I gave my sister a bunch of scrunchies and things I crocheted in a pretty crocheted bag, I gave my mom a couple of homemade washcloths, a scarf, and a scarf hanger, and I gave my two brothers and my dad each a hat I fingerknitted. I got a new (computer) mouse, an awesome backpack, a snow tube, and a bunch of other cool stuff! We had Christmas with my dad's side on Saturday, my mom's on Christmas Eve, and with my mom's for most of Christmas. Hope you had a great Christmas, Admins!
