CB Questions!

Have you ever had that one burning question you've always wanted to ask another CBer? Here's the place to ask (Admins included)!

I have a question for all of you, which is how many of you have been overseas and to where?

Also, @Soren Infinity, I saw in a Ski Lodge that you mentioned you were vegetarian. I had no idea and thought I was the only one *high fives*. Is anyone else here vego?

@everyone, does anyone learn an instrument? I'm learning guitar and also a little bit of piano and used to do traditional Korean drumming, which was so fun and taught me a lot about Korean culture. And on that note, does anyone learn another language?

Have fun!

~Coroline

I've been to England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, and Canada.

*High fives back* You're not alone when people look at you funny for not eating the turkey at Thanksgiving! XD Jwyn and I think Secret are vegetarian too.

As for instruments, I played piano for 2 years, percussion in band for a year and a half, and was forced to play recorder in 4th grade. XD

I can't think of any questions right now, but I'll be back (that sounded slightly creepy...)!

Answers:

I've been to London and Scotland.

I am not vegetarian, but I know someone irl who is!

I taught myself to play piano, but not that well.

I learn Spanish in school and Hebrew at religious school. I really enjoy learning languages!

Questions:

@Admins, I've always wondered what your interface looks like. Do you just have a list of comments that you read through and then submit? Or is it organized by area? Or what?

Everyone, do you ever use Grammarly? Do you like it?

I, personally, dislike Grammarly, because it catches a whole bunch of things that I don't need it to bug me about (like when I type what my CAPTCHA says and it's like that is not a word) and never notices the things I do need it to bug me about. Plus, I think a lot of people use it to cheat instead of actually proofreading their stuff. Oh, and then it's like there are 10 premium issues in this, but we're not going to tell you what they are unless you pay money. Sorry!

Speaking of proofreading, does anyone else LOVE proofreading other people's things?

In one of my classes, we just finished writing an essay, and I think I peer-reviewed probably half the class's essays.

@Viola?, I've noticed that both of your AEs don't really fit into gender lines - Sea Glass is aporagender (Grammarly, please don't tell me that's not a word) and Nymph switches between genders. Is there any specific reason you do this? *I actually really like that you do this, so please don't take this question the wrong way.*

We just see a list of comments in order by the time they are submitted. Comments for all areas of Chatterbox come in to the same list. Time submitted is the only criteria for the list. We don't even see to which comment they are replying. We can look that up, but it takes a couple steps to do it and we rarely have the time to do it.

I've never been overseas. :(

I'm not vegetarian: much the opposite!

I can play the piano and sort of the guitar.

I LOVE proofreading! ;) What I don't like is when I have to explain it all to the writer of the paper, though..................

I've never been overseas. I'd love to go to Ireland or England someday, though.

I do! I play the violin, and have for...almost nine years now. I'm learning Mandarin Chinese, and I think this is my third year on that?

I use Grammarly. I actually like it a good bit. We bought the premium at a discounted price, and it really isn't that bad. But I mainly use it for school and stuff, and not as much for creative writing.

My question: does anyone else take dance, and if so, how long/what kind (ballet, jazz, etc)? As some of you might know, I take Irish Dance. I've been dancing for nine years this March! Wow! I can't believe it!

I dance! I take ballet technique and pointe, and I love it. I took tap for a year when I was younger, and I did a little jazz for awhile too. I’ve been taking ballet since I was three. Irish dance sounds so cool, I wish there was somewhere near where I live where I could learn! What’s it like?

It's HARD! XD probably not as hard as ballet, though. There's so many things swirling through your head every second--arms in, turn out, shoulders back, straighten knees, point toes, up on toes, SMILE! XD

I went overseas once, to Mexico, but I was so young I don’t remember it. I would love to go to Ireland and Scotland and England someday, really just all of Britain, and Scandinavia too, someday.

I took piano for awhile, but I’ve taken a break. I’m not sure if I’ll pick back up or not. I think I’d like to learn how to play one of those really pretty whistle/flute things, and maybe drums someday. My brother and my grandpa and I are planning to try to learn the dulcimer and some other bluegrass instruments so we can all play bluegrass eventually.

I have grammarly, the free version, and I just got it, so I’m not sure what I think of it yet. I haven’t used it much, but so far it’s been a little annoying and not super helpful. But I’m gonna give it a chance, since the ads looked so promising. Then again, that’s the pointe of ads, isn’t it?

I used to learn Piano, but not anymore. I have never been Overseas.

@SorenInfinity, are you a steampunk human, a dragon, or a fusion of both? because that's how I imaine you.

Answers:

I have been to Italy, France, Croatia, Greece, the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands.

I am not vegetarian, but there are several people at my school who are. They really enjoy that lifestyle but I don't know if I could do it. I'm already anemic so I need the iron in red meat to keep me going.

I play the flute (though I'm planning to drop it next year), and the piano.

For school, I'm learning Latin, but for me, I'm learning Italian. Latin has made Italian much easier, since it's a romantic language.

Questions:

Has anyone on here taken the SAT recently? If so, what was it like?

If you could travel anywhere in the world for as long as you wanted, where would you go, and why? I feel like it says a lot about your personality where you want to travel. :)

I'd like to know about the SAT too! I took the ACT last year, and am playing to take the SAT this year.

Inktail, I do Irish Dance as well! *High fives* I think I also took ballet for a few months when I was, like, three, but I don't remember that.

Leeli, Irish Dance is very difficult because we don't use our arms, so we have to hold them down the whole time. It's also a lot more structured than other types of dance in terms of what we're allowed to do and what music we dance to and how the competitions are structured. And ID takes a LOT of energy due to all the hopping and such. I'd be happy to tell you more about it, but I feel like this is getting to be too much...

If I could travel anywhere in the world for as long as I wanted, hm... My first thought was Universal Studios in Florida because HARRY POTTER. But then I thought that's probably not actually all that amazing. So THEN I thought, are there any loopholes in this question? But I decided that wouldn't really work. SO, I think my final answer is a castle, maybe? I love castles. Or Hawai'i, where I've never been but have heard is amazing. Or maybe the British Museum, because I really want to meet Irving Finkel (look him up. he's amazing). Or the largest library in the world. Or AUSTRALIA! Because, okay, so the next Ranger's Apprentice book came out in Australia, because that's where John Flanagan lives, but it isn't available in the US until MAY!! So I guess my answer is I HAVE NO IDEA. But this answer probably gives you a sense of my personality...

Question:

If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would you meet, and why?

I would meet Thomas Sanders to tell him how much he meets to this world and tell him about my Sanders sides fanfictions!
