I went to public school for sixth grade, and let me say that the pacer test gave me a new appreciation for being homeschooled.

The fitness gram pacer test is a multi stage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The twenty meter pacer test will begin in thirty seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.

You know what i heard? I heard some people get a FRIENDLY WOMAN VOICE, and NOT the monotone guy voice!

I think that would just ruin friendly woman voices for me.

Oh my goodness. *has flashback* The first time I ever did a pacer test I was in 3rd or 4th grade and I almost passed out! I didn't know that's what they were called.

Finally- someone who understands!

For real though, the pacer test is awful. the worst part is probably the suspence - knowing you'll be doing it next week, it's tomorrow, waking up realizing it's today, feeling sick just thinking about it...... the second worst part is definitly being in the first 5 to drop out.

Oh, are you KIDDING me?

My gym teacher will spring it up on us on ANY GIVEN DAY!

We did a test last week, and I'm perdy sure we're doing one THIS WEEK.

He'll (my gym teacher) even give us PRACTICE ONES. That is just CRUEL. You can't PRACTICE for a PACER.

But here's a great idea for a fundraiser: if we reach our goal, the TEACHERS have to do the Pacer! I sent an email to the Student Council adult leader, and I REALLY want to talk with her about it. It's a good idea!

I’m homeschooled so I have no idea what this is, but it sounds torturous. Half of me is very glad I don’t have to do it, but half of me also kinda wants to try it now, just to see how good I’d do. XP

Dear lord, I’m not a runner in any way, so I always fail. It doesn’t help that my crush is in that class too so when I fail I just go and hide in the locker room and talk to my friends because I’m too scared to go back out

I saw the title and it now I hear its monotone voice. I hate hate hate it.

In my school you need to run the length of the gym(the long way) without breaks for at least 25 laps once a year. The rest of the time we run the width of the gym either alone for 35 laps or in a group of three for 75 laps.

Which teacher thought it was a good idea to make students run until they pass out or throw up? A horrible one! P.E. made me hate exercize, I used to do tennis and badmitin all the time but now I hate it because I've been pushed so hard in P.E. that I'm sore all ovdr for the rest of the day(I have P.E. 2nd period)!

My school also does this thing once a month where they take all the classes and position them around the field and track before making us run three laps around said grass and track in 21 minutes. Thats 2.1 miles in 21 minutes! Before that they have the audacity to make you run the mile on wednesday and do fitness on thursday.

sigh
