Top! Going to see the fireworks in an hour or so (and by that I mean leaving the house in an hour, the fireworks don't start until 9:15 but parking and good places to sit are crazy where we're going).

I feel you Leafy.

I was with my friend Graham for fireworks last night. We set off one, and this spark flew up and grazed our faces. We both jumped back like five feet. Later that night, Graham was sitting on a rock and a spark almost hit him AGAIN. Fireworks just want to murder him.

Aww, you lucky kids who can set off your own personal fireworks :3 Portland doesn't allow it, there are supposed to be only the official ones (although, haha, there were people somewhere near our viewing point on Thursday who were setting off some smaller ones and there were also a couple other [probably unofficial] sideshow-y things near the official fireworks while we were watching them).

I just got back yesterday from Chicago, which was really fun, so I got to watch the Chicago fireworks, they were really good but the only problem was they launched them from a barge in lake Michigan and it was so far away that it wasn't very loud. And I think that half of fireworks is the loud noise, especially when you can feel it. At our cottage we would go out on a boat on the lake and one of our neighbors did really good like professional fireworks and we got to watch from like right under them. Also Chicago is really cool, I go there about every two years but I saw some new stuff this time that I hadn't seen before. (The Apple Store in Chicago is really cool)
