Hexaflexagons! :)

Hexaflexagons! :)

So for school today I had to make this weird origami thing that is really cool. It is called a hexaflexagon and it seems like it had three sides, but actually paper only has two sides. You can like turn the paper inside out and stuff so it is really cool. It is really fun and easy. Nice sort of mind-blowing small arts and crafts project.

I love hexaflexagons so much!!

If, hypothetically, one were to go to Google or YouTube and search hexaflexagon, or Vi Hart, or "How To Make a Hexaflexagon: The Definitive Guide," one might find some informational videos on how to make hexaflexagons. :)

Have you tried making hexahexaflexagons? Basically, you take a double-long strip of triangles and spiral it up on itself so you have a strip of nine triangles, then fold that into a hexaflexagon. A hexahexaflexagon has SIX sides, instead of three, so you can do all sorts of fun things with them.

I also once saw a QUADflexagon, which is square-shaped and has four sides. I'm not entirely sure how to make them, but I'm sure there are instructions somewhere.

I got super into a origami a couple weeks ago and decided it was to be my new hobby. Then I tried it and it turns out I am very, very, very bad at it. There went that!

I love hexaflexagons! I once made a 3-D one...if I remembered how to do it I'd tell you. My first hexaflexagon I played with so much it ripped.
