Hello! I know a ton about Averno (I'm actually pretty active in the Averno fandom), so I can answer this!

Averno is a transmedia franchise, encompassing musicals, webcomics, podcasts, short films, etc. It is not actually from Marvel, but it is commonly described as like the Marvel universe, but with musicals (and more) about gay witches. All of the stories take place in and around the fictional small town of Averno, Virginia, and they're tied together by common themes and locations, not any particular characters-- though some characters are in multiple pieces of media.

Averno itself is not inherently inappropriate at all. Some of the media does mention heavy topics, so proceed with caution, especially if you're on the younger end. But the whole point of Averno is that it's inclusive and welcoming, so there should be something for everyone.
