Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

...it's my CBversary

(Oh my stars, where has the time gone?) 

One year ago today, when I first entered the address in the bottom corner of the Letterbox, I never expected to be transported to a wonderful place of creativity, kindness, and splendiferous people who actually got me.

Since that day when I wrote out my whole cringey intro post, I have gone on to make AEs and CAPTCHAs, participate in numerous SIs and Roleplays and games of Catch the Cookie, read along with solo writes and ski lodges, and make countless threads and posts and comments.

The CB has made me a better writer, a better artist, a better person. It has gotten me through some very hard times in my life, and you guys have been here and supported me when I needed it the most. You shared your stories and artwork, you complimented my work, you were always there when I needed a shoulder to lean on (figuratively because, well, y'know), and you inspired me to be a better person.

You have all made the CB a wonderful, amazing, safe space. Without it, I never would have grown as an artist. I never would have reached my NaNo word count goal. I never would have realized I was genderfae and demiromantic, and I never would have found the courage to accept that. The CB is a second home for me, a sturdy stone in the river of life, and I thank you all for making it so.

I honestly can't believe I've been on here for a year. It seems like I've been a part of the CB for my whole life. I'm thankful for all of you, and I'm thankful that the CB has given us the ability to be major parts in each other's lives, or at least in mine. Because whatever google might say, the CB is more than a website; it's a community full of awesome, creative, thoughtful, emoticon and asterisks-loving (yesss! no one else I know irl shares my love of asterisks--) people that I'm glad I get the pleasure of being a part of. 

I was going to give shoutouts, but I realized I would miss a bunch of people, since you all played a major part in making me feel welcome, and showing me the kindness and enthusiasm of everyone here. Everyone here is an amazing, special and unique, and incredibly talented human bean, and I am so thankful I know each and every one of you. I will give a special shoutout to the @Admins, because they play a major part in keeping the CB a safe, awesome place so I feel like I can be myself and be respected and not judged, so thank you SO MUCH for that. I'd also like to give a general shoutout to all those who submit their stories, poetry, and artwork. Your amazing work inspires me, keep being awesome and creating amazing things! I admire your work so much, you have no idea. And thank you to all of you for brightening my each and every day with so many "lizards" and tackle hugs and positivitea and thoughtful posts and compliments and hilarious AE interactions.
