Good lord, it's been a while. Hey! How are you all? Many of you probably won't know me, and that's okay -- I'm Vyolette, a pretty old CBer, and it's been at least three years (?) since I've last posted. It's nice to see so many new (to me, at least) faces around here!
I know that the annual CB Reunion is coming up in February, but I randomly stumbled across my stack of old Cricket magazines and was flooded with serotonin, just thinking about this forum. This place was really special to me, and opened up a world of friends and games and conversations during a time in my life where I was kind of lonely irl. So thank you for that, and thank you, Admins, for making this a safe place.
Like I said, I just really wanted to pop in and say "Hi", but I'll definitely try to make it back on Valentine's Day for the reunion too. Also, do mine eyes deceive me, or do I see recent posts from Jwyn?! (Hiiiiii <3)

Hi! Yes, Jwyn is still around. Also, The Ominous' ski-lodge from 2018, which you joined (I just checked) finally finished!! John F. Q. popped in about a week ago to post the last couple of parts. Anyway, nice to meet you! :)

I'm doing well! Super nostalgic atm (especially from digging through posts and re-living everything) and ready for a break from school, but good! I was so excited to see you were still here!! How have YOU been?

Do you remember my bestie Jaybells? I think they were around when you were? Jay's still here, and has been more active than I these past couple of years. Other older CBers pop in from time to time, but never enough. The CB is always a great community, but I miss you guys <3
School is definitely a big thing in my life at the moment. I don't know if you were around here then, but I started going to public school in 2020, and it has been excellent! My teachers and classmates are incredible and I'm so blessed to have them. That said, schoolwork takes up a lot of my time, and it's a little stressful at some points. I don't have nearly as much free time as I did when I was homeschooled, but I'm really enjoying school and life now at the moment. It's been a crazy few years!
All that to say I've been pretty great! How has school been for you, and what classes are you taking this year?

I think I do, yeah! It feels like it's been so long, but I guess it really hasn't been. I hadn't realized how much I missed you all too until a few days ago.
Oh yeah, I think I remember seeing some posts about that during my digging! Congrats!! I'm glad to hear it's going well, especially since the transition from homeschooling to public can be jarring. Oh yes lol, that's an unfortunate draw-back, the stress and lack of free time. You don't realize how good you've got it while being homeschooled until it's gone, am I right? XD Are you a junior this year? Senior?
School for me is good! I'm actually in college right now, which is has been a considerable shift from high school, which I completed all online. But I love it so much! In-person classes are so much more engaging than online ones. My professors are great, and I'm slowly but surely making friends on campus. I kind of got a jump-start on college credits while I was still in high school, so that coupled with the fact that I knew this transition might be hard, I decided to only take two classes this semester. I probably could have handled more, but, you know, hindsight is 20/20. Better to be slightly bored than hugely stressed lol. The classes I'm taking are political science and American literature I.
