Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Alrighty so... I

Alrighty so... I submitted a thread a while ago on how to write stories for the Cricket magazine, but it disappeared mysteriously :/

Before it poofed the answer was based on the misunderstanding that I was wanting to submit a story to the competition. I just want to clarify that I was to write stories to be featured inside the Cricket mag, not to be in a competition with other stories (though I might do that if a theme comes by that I'd be good at!).

I'm pretty good at writing. I don't like to brag, so I won't do that, but I'm currently writing a book series with my friend! We're editing the first two books currently, but we got a little head start on the first couple of chapters on the third. I also have a couple other project books that I'll work on once I'm done editing.

So yeah! I've been wanting to do this for a while, so we'll see!

Ah, I can explain that. When a thread is commented on for the first time, it disappears. You have to click twice on the "submitted by" button above the list of threads, which organizes the threads by date, in order to find it again. Then you can comment on it again, or "top" it, to bring it back to the top.

As for writing stories for Cricket, I wanted to do that too, but then I found out that the magazine only accepts stories from authors age 18 and up! But there are other magazines that publish children/teens' work, like Stone Soup and Magic Dragon.

That's cool that you're writing a book series. Writing is so much fun!

Remember, Cricket does publish stories by young people in its Cricket League contests. Look for the specific theme and rules in each issue and at cricketmagkids.com/contests.

Thank you so much for the explanations! And Admin, I do enjoy the contests, but once again, I was meaning actual stories.
