Does anybody wanna

Does anybody wanna talk about global warming?

I do! I hate global warming and I'm really mad that not a lot of people are doing much about it. Doesn't anyone care?

I know.  But think, there must be a whole lot of Cricket readers and if we all were to do something drastic...  What do you think?

Other than that we just installed a solar hot water heater!  I really want to get ALL solar but its kind of hard to do where we live though definitely possible.  Also I'm going to ride the bus today, to save gas.

I read that global warming is a natural cycle. Did you know that 30 years ago, everyone was talking about global cooling? How do people want it? Not like pollution and conservation aren't real problems, but global warming is based mostly on the sun. The level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has not gone up (percentagewise) very much.

I totally agree with you, Emily!!!!!!

I think I disagree with you on a lot of thinks, Emily L. Did you see my comment about how the Earth was created? I think global warming is terrible. My family is thinking about starting to recycle and things like that. (I convinced them.)

Don't think I'm against recycling. It would be just plain wasteful to throw away all that useful stuff. Once I saw a bench with a sighn on it that said that it was made out of 800 recycled milk jugs.

I think that the world has been going through a lot of changes and there's really no way we can stop it

Hi everyone! Can anyone explain what global warming is for me? I don't want to sound completely ignorant, but I've never actually understood what that was all about. I'd appreciate any answers.

Global warming can mean one of 2 things.  It is either the natural process of heating and cooling the earth goes through (like from warm dinosaur temperatures to ice age freezing temps).  Or it is the buildup of greenhouse gases caused by pollution.  Greenhouse gas is just carbon dioxide, the stuff you breath out, but it acts like a blanket that traps heat in the atmosphere.  I hope this helped.

Yes, that helped a lot. Thanks, Wendy!

Just an FYI, guys, all those "greenhouse gases" you hear about are actually mostly created by cows, sheep, and other livestock.  Humans, with all their breathing, driving, and other supposedly "bad" habits that kill the planet produce less than 3% of all greenhouse gases.  Besides all that, global warming is a natural cycle.  Whether the cows go extinct or not, the world will heat up and melt the ice caps, disturbing the air and ocean currents, leaving us in a new ice age.  Eventually, it will all go back to normal, so there's really nothing to rant about.
