Global Warming is

Global Warming is the talk of the world these days. I was wondering who here believes in Global Warming and who doesn't. I always think that it's interesting to hear other people's views on this hugely contraversial topic.

Please post to say your opinion on climate change!

I believe, and it scares me.  My house has solar, low flow toilets, and we own a Prius.  I really want to do every thing I can to stop Global Warming, but I need ideas.  Hmm... anybuggy have any ideas for somebuggy who's really shy and doesn't like to interact with people????  :D

I'm sort of getting tired of this subject, but I have to post on every single thread, soo, I suppose I have to say it, AGAIN. :/

GLOBAL WARMING IS FAKE!  I just got back from Florida, which was only in the 40-60s!!!!!  The ice caps are bigger than ever (don't make me find that article again!)!!  The poplution of polar bears in about 5 times bigger than in the sixties!!  Maine is just as cold as ever (the one thing I was looking forward to in global warming was a warmer Maine....)!  Etc! Etc! Etc!

~Paige (who doesn't believe in global warming at all)

PS Now do you see why you don't ask me questions like this???

Don't mean to be rude, but...how can you not believe in global warming? Just because it's not year-round summer yet doesn't mean that it's not real! Global warming isn't just making things warmer, it is messing with the whole temperature system of our planet! For instance, in Oregon this year, we had loads more snow than usual. With the extra heat, more water evaporates, causing more percipitation, which just happens to be in the form of snow at the moment.

Sorry, I get really steamed up when people don't believe (nothing personal Paige) because I do this thing called Lego Robotics, and this year, the subject was climate change, and I spent hour after hour having it drilled into my head the global warming was real!

I honestly don't mean to be rude or offend anyone, I just feel rather strongly on this topic.Embarassed

I think Climate Change is a big issue.  There are already two three threads about this, and if you go to one of them, you may view my little debate with TNO.  Paige, why do you believe so strongly that Global warming is "fake"?  Why not just take into consideration the fact that maybe, just maybe, Global Warming exists?  Examples:

1.  We are currently supposed to be heading into an Ice Age
2.  Extremely strange weather is being recorded in many places (for instance, we got snow here in fall)
3.  Studies show that polar bears are dying
4.  I don't know what you're talking about, Paige, ice caps are NOT getting "bigger"!!

You've taken it too far.  This causes for drastic action.  I, gasp, gasp, will go to an, *screams*, OLD THREAD!!! :D:D:D AHHH!!!!!  Be right back! :D:D:D:D

Okay, this is from when I welcomed Sam to the Chatterbox.  The article is a REAL article and not just one of those corny science ones you see at the drug store. ;)

"About stuff like global warming, I agree, it is a natural occurrence.  You'll like the thread about global warming in the Down to Earth Section.  I can't remember its name.  Could be "Global Warming", maybe...  The thread doesn't have much action anymore, but it might be interesting to see other people's views.  Want to hear something funny???  Scientists are beginning to warn people that we are going to be entering another ice age in a few years!!!  My dad lived through an "ice age" when he was our age.  It is a cycle, for Pete's sake!!  I wonder who "Pete" is...

I have more evidence that global warming is a hoax.  Wait just a minute... *runs off to find article*  Here it is: The claims were frantic.  The polar ice caps are disappearing due to global warming.  The North Pole may soon be ice-free.  Without ice to live on, polar bears are disappearing.  The U.S. Congress even passed a law this year to protect "endangered" polar bears.  Reality, however, isn't so frightening.  Sixty years ago, there were about 5,000 polar bears.  Now there are 25,000.  And NASA satellite photos show polar ice growing.  The 2008 Antarctic ice cap is bigger than ever before recorded.  The Arctic ice cap from August 2007 to August 2008 grew at least 10 percent and perhaps as much as 20 percent. Paige, you could have a point there, but then again, you also couldn't.  I really don't know anything about where to get info, but I know for a fact, that we can get just as convincing proof against your theory, as you have toward it.  Where I live, it usually rains all winter.  We've had probably three rain storms this winter, all about four days long or less.  In between, it has been EXTREMELY hot.  No one knows for sure what is happening.  But, remember how in the '70s, some people were worried about going into an Ice Age?  That was not something that thousands of scientists agreed on, it was a theory, made by a small amount in comparison.  I'm sure you will find evidence against me, but I will at you, too.  I admit that my words are probably not 100% accurate, but I know that I have some truth in there.

One more thing.  If we are going into an Ice Age, I'm almost certain that I heard somewhere that it is too early.

Now, I didn't put my name, because I don't want you to hold this against me.

Don't worry, I don't get mad at people because of stuff like this! :D:D I mean, I stayed friends with people that we got in huge fights with on the old evolution thread, so don't worry! :D:D Are you Laura?

Oh, and I got my info from a newpaper magazine thingy that, as far as I know, is completly accurate. :)

JUST BECAUSE POLAR BEARS ARE GROWING, DOESN'T MEAN THE ICE CAPS ARE, TOO!!

Sorry. I feel strongly. It's not just warming up, it's all these drastic changes. Plus, we have used 30% of the world's resources in the last three decades!!

I take environmental science. More coming if i dig up my notes . . .

Wonderful. =D  I couldn't have put it better myself.  I believe that the world cools and warms naturally.  But manmade global warming does not exist.

Maine's weather is absoultly the same as it was forty years ago. (It barely even has a summer when it's supposed to!) ;) Florida seemed pretty average Florida winter (the only reason I complained about it being cold, was because I forgot it was winter. :D:D:D).

What I want is PROOF that global warming is real.  People usually talk about it, and blah, blah, blah, but they NEVER GIVE PROOF!!!!  Some scientists....  If they had enough proof to support their theory, I might (only might) believe it.

Plus, so what if the world gets a little warm?  The polar bear populations are thriving!  Some people will just have to learn to wear shorts and sunglasses and others will just have to learn to wear a coat. ;) Maybe all the people used to hot weather can change states with those used to cold.  See?  A solution!  We don't have to worry about something that we can't fix!

"Who of you, by worrying, can add a single hour to his life?" Some verse in Matthew (I forgot what the exact spot was...)

We don't have to worry, because it ain't going to save us. ;) Now, if people are so convinced that the world is going to melt to us death, why don't we go convert everbuggy to Christianity, so when it happens, they'll be saved from eternal death? Hmm?  I personally think it's a waste of time!  Oh no!  We're wasting something!!!  AHH!!!!! :)

Sorry about the wasting thing.  I actually believe in recycling.  I do it all the time (and not only because my dad lets me keep the money from the bottles and cans....)!!!!

So yeah, that's my opinion on the subject.  Don't take anyting personally! :) I still want to be your friend!!! :D:D:D

And don't worry about being rude.  Heheheheh....  I've been about a million times ruder than you on this site......  Whoops...  I'm sorry, Elena! :(:(

There has been proof, but no one will believe it!  And even if we didn't have proof, do you?

Glad to hear there's another Christian on here. Here's a spectacular prayer called the Prayer of Jabez.

OH LORD, THAT YOU WOULD BLESS ME INDEED, AND ENLARGE MY TERRITORY, THAT YOUR HAND MAY BE WITH ME, AND THAT YOU WOULD KEEP ME FROM ALL EVIL.

To learn more about this prayer, the life you're meant to live, abundance of God, and rewards in Heaven, I encourage you to get the following books, all by the wonderful, amazing Bruce Wilkinson.

-The Dream Giver
