Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Documentary opportunity .

Documentary opportunity ..

Hey guys , so I've had a cool opportunity arise for me ! So this lady contacted my mom and was asking if I'd like to act in a documentary about a girl who overcomes her parents' addictions .. now you may think like "whoa , addictions ? That might not be appropriate for a 14 year old" but quite frankly , that's my life story , that's my current struggle . I hate telling people this , but to clear things up I'm going to give a little walk through my life .

My parents had me out of wedlock , they were both drug & alcohol addicts , and right before my first birthday got married . They both were addicts until 2005 when my dad got locked up . They both cleaned up until 2008 when my mom relapsed and got very ( mentally ) ill and had to be sent to a mental hospital . My dad therefore relapsed . My mom came home in 2009 and she got healed of everything , but my dad is still struggling with addiction . So to me , this role would be personal . What do you all think ?

Thanks !

Wow. Vida first off I'd like to say that you are officially one of the single most incredible people Ihave ever met. Despite your hardships, you still have amazing faith in God.

As to the documentary, I can see how that would be a fantastic opportunity but also very difficult. It depends on how youthink it would affect you. It also depends on how you have to act, and what you have to do. You want to do a role that wouldn't be degrading to God or a Godly girl. I suggest you pray on it hard, and talk to this lady about what you'll be doing, and how it'll affect you and your family.

Those things aside, it sounds amazing! If you think it's a good idea, and you want to, I say go for it! The chance to do something like that, and even possibly make a difference, is an incredible opportunity!

Whatever you decide, you are in my prayers!

@BHR : Lol , thank you for that ! These last 2 years it's been uuup and downnn for me & my faith , at one point I wasn't sure if God was real . But I'm over that ignorance !

And yes , that's why we're meeting with the director Monday . I want to do this to bring glory to God , and also for thei experience ..

Thank you so much ! Just agree with me on guidance and discernment (:

Oh and hey , if you have any faith questions , just ask . I think I can join Nano so we can message if you have one of those lol .

Wow, that's so exciting. I can't wait to hear all about it. I can see why they cast you though, with your story being a parallel to the documentary's.

Woah. I just saw this today, and I wish you the best of luck! Was the movie initially supposed to be a documentary about you (or someone else who has actually had the life story you've had) or a drama about a fictional girl who overcomes parental addiction (with someone who is solely a child actress)? I'm not sure you made that clear. I also think your faith is incredible after what you have been through, and I certainly don't blame you for occasionally doubting (<- what an oddly spelled word).

@ Vida: You're welcome. I totally understand the ups and downs. I think every Christian goes through that, and questions their faith. But you know, those things just make you and your faith stronger.

I'm SO glad you got the part! That's incredible! I'm sure it'll be a great experience for you.

I will definitely ask you if I ever have a question! Tell me if you join Nano, and I'll message you.

Vida why do you put a space before your punctuation marks? It's not like this , it's like, <----That.

Hey guys ! I'm SO sorry , I lost the thread and couldn't find it anywhere !

Okay to clear one thing up : It's a documentary about a girl who's parents were addicted to substances . It's not about me , I'm just an actress and it happens to apply to my life .

Also , yes I know that there's not supposed to be a space but I just think it looks cool ! Lol , when I'm writing something for school or by hand I don't do that .

And , guess what ? My best friend is going to be in one of the scenes with me , and my mom is going to be the step mom in the movie ! I'm so excited !

@ BHR : Sorry I haven't made one yet , I forgot . I will though !
